SPECIFIC
HOMOEOPATHIC EEMEDIES, .
Ko. 562 BROADWAY.
THE GREAT FEATURE
Of this scries of Domestic Remedies is that each
particular medicine is a Specific for the partic
ular disease or class of disease whose name it
bears, and may be relied upon for tbe cure of
that particular affection. Hence, persons suffer
ing from a chronic disease or long-standing ail
ment, in buying a case of Humphrey's Specifics
obtain the pa'ticular one desired in their case,
and thus themselves make a cure which other
wise would cost them many dollars, and no small
amount of time and medical attendance, if, in
deed, it cculd be obtained at all. !
Thus multitudes suffer from Dyspepsia, Bil- I
iocs Condition, Costivexlss, Sad Taste,
Coated Tongue and Debility, which is per
fectly controlled and cured bv the
DYSPEPSIA SPECIFIC.
There is scarcely a phase or form of this dis
ease which is not promptly controlled and ulti
mately cured by the use of this Specific. Thous
ands who have suffered for years with this
"Bilious Condition" Laving purchased a case of
these Specifics, have obtained a perfect cure and
immunity from their old complaint.
COUGHS, COLDS AND SOKE THROATS,
which so frequently lead to
BRONCHITIS AND CONSUMPTION
are all in their early stage secured bv the
COUGH PILLS.
Many cases of long standing Bronchitis and irri
tating Coupha have been perfectly cured by this
Specific. But more ! many persons have a spe
cific liability to colds and take the.ri from the
least exposure. This will be entirely relieved by
the use of the COUOll 1 ILLS, as scores can
testify from experience. So
CATARLIl
is one of our most common and most troublesome
diseases, ngair.st which the Old School Medicines
and even Homoeopathic prescriptions, are of veiy
little use. let hundreds of persons have been
cured of not only recent and fresh, but even long
standing and obstinate, cases of CATARRH by
the use of this specific.
One-aged lady in Sracuse was ttius perfectly
cured of a Catarrh, which had annoyed her all
her life. And a young lady at one of our first
class boarding schools, who was so afflicted with
this disease as to require more than forty hand
kerchiefs a week, was entirely cured in a single
week by this Specific.
PILES,
bleeding and blind, some of those common and
obstinate forms of disease which are so difficult
to cure by the ordiuary methods, but which find
an entire and fundamental cure in the Piles Spe
cific. True, time is required ; but the Specific is
pleasant to take, requires neither dist nor re
straint, and being followed up a perfect cure is
the result. Hundreds of persons, in purchasing
a case of Specifics, have obtained a cure for this
m-ist trying and obstinate form of disease, which
has been worth to them ten times the cost of the
entire set. Cases of over twenty years' stand
ing have been cured by tls simple Specific, and
we believe may be cured by perseverance.
The case contains the. Vest
FEVER AND AGUE SPECIFIC
known. A remedy without any deleterious or
poisonous substance, which not only cures the
ague, and old, mismanaged agues, but may be
relied upon as a preventive when persons are re
siding in a fever and ague district. It prevents
or protects upon tlie same principle that vaccina
tion prevents small pox or belladonea prevents
scarlet fever, by pre occupying the system with
the true Specific. Hundreds have been thus
protected and cured.
THE OPTIIALMY SPECIFIC
bns proved a most invaluable remedy for SORE
EYES and EYELIDS, and for WEAK an.l
BLURRED SIGHT. One lady in Indiana, who .
bad been a 'sufferer from sore eyes for many
ycais, and fur two years was entirely Wind, was
cured perfectly by the Op. balmy Specific alone.
HEADACHES,
to which so many are subject, find a curative in
the case. There is a specific which relieves at
the time of thi attack, and also one which cor
rects the condition of the system upon winch it
depends, and so destroys the predisposition to a
return.
The specifics for the various forms of
FEMALE COMPLAINTS
have proved invaluable. Old long standing
LEOCORRHOJA or WHITES, attended with
debility oi exhaustion, and for which other forms
of medicine are of little value, are fully controlled
and cured by the FEMALE PILLS, while the
specific for ikregui.arities control lmost every
form of FCANTY, PAINFUL Or IUUEGULAE MEN
STItUATIOX. DIARRHOEAS AND SUMMER COMPLAINTS
in adults or children are controlled like magic by
the DlAKP.noeA Pills, while it may b; averred
without tho posMMlitv of successful contradiction
ness or Soreness in the Chest, Back, Lains or
Limbs.
A. For Fever and Ague, Chill Fever, Dumb
Ague, old mismanafted Agues.
P. For Piles, Blind or Bleeding, Internal or
External.
O. For Sore, Weak or Inflamed Eyes and
Eyelids, Failing, Weak or Blurred Sight.
C. For Catarrh, of long standing or recent,
either with obstruction or profuse discharge.
W. C. For Whooping Cough, abating its vio
lence and shortening its course.

R. HARDMAN treats Consumption, Bron
chitis, Laryngitis, Asthma: and ait other
Diseases of the Throat and Lungs, by MEDICA
TED INHALATION
The great point in the treatment of ai human
maladies is to get at the disease in a direct man
ner. All medicines are estimated by their action
iiDon the orsan requiring relief. Thi3 is the im
portant fact upon which inhalation is hised
the stomach is diseased, we take medicine di
rectly into tr.e storuacu. it tue lungs are ns
eased. berathv-nigTlivle medicated vapors directly
mtothcmv jrwiteop. vrhy Consumption f.od
diseases of the Lungs have heretolore resisted all
treatment, has been because they were n t ap
proached in a direct manner b- medicines. They
were lntcmleii to oo local, ami yet tney were so
administered that they could not act constitu
tionally, expending toeir immea:a:a action upon
the stomach, Whilst tae foul ulcers among the
lungs were unmolested. INHALATION brings
the medicine into ftiiect contact with the disease,
without the disadvantages of any violent action.
Its application is so simple that it may be em
ployed by the youngest infant or feeblest invalid-
It docs not derange the stoina.cn, or intei lere in
the least with the strength, comfort or business
of the patient.

ScrofUla, or King's Evil,
is a constitutional diseae, a corruption of ths
blood, by which this fluid become vitiated,
weak, and poor." Being in the circulation, it
pervades the whole body, and nay burst out
in disease on any part of it. No orgin is fr
from its attacks, nor is there one which it may
not destroy. The scrofulous taint is variously
caused by mercurial disease; low living, di
ordered or unhealthy fooct, impure air, filtk
and filthy habits, the depressing rices, and,
above all, by the venereal infection. A hat
ever be its origin, it is hereditary in the con
stitu n, descending from parent! o chilireii
unt ,the third and fourth generation ;" indeed,
it t ems to be the rod of Him. who says, " I
will' visit the iniquities of the father upon,
their children."
Its effects commence by deposition, from the
blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, ia
the lunp, liver, and internal organs, is termed
tubercle; in te glands, swellings; and oa
the surface, eruptions or sores. This foul cor
ruption, which genders in the blood, deprestef
the energies of life, so thst scrofulous cemstitu-j
tions not only suffer from scrofulous com
plaints, but thev have far less power to with
stand the attacks of other diseases; conse
. quently, vast numbers perish by disorders
which, although not scrofulous in their nature,
are still rendered fatal by this taint in th
system. Host of the consumption which de
cimates the human family has its origin directly
in this scrofulous costaniination ; sad many
destructive diseases of the liver, kidneys, brain,
and, indeed, of all the organs, arise from ox
are aggravated by the same cause.
One quarter of all our people are scrofulous ;
their persons are invaded by this lurking in
fection, and their health is undermined by it.
To cleanse it from the system we must renovate
the blood by an alterative medicine, and in
vigorate it by healthy food and exercise
Such a medicine we supply ia
AVER'S
Compound Extract of Sarsaparilla,
the most effectual remedy which the medical
