"Beau" Caldwell was a sporting genius,
of an extremely versatile character. Like
ll bia fraternity, he wad possessed of a pli

imediately aceeded, not having tasted cook
ed provisions that day.
"Now," eaid the planter, while "Beau
was paying marked attention to a hen tur
key, "it's mighty inconvenient to have one's
homestead smashed op, without so much as
asking the liberty. And more than that, if
there'? law to be had, it thaat be did ei

"I'ovh! nonsense, my dear friend," replied

we hare gone through seventeen kitchens
