Stray Cow Broke into the improved and in

COKE WANTED.
COLUMBIA AND PHILA. R. ROAD
SEALED propcsals will be received at thisofiice,
until Wednesday, September 20, for supplying
this road, for one year, from the 1st of October
next, with about 3G00 bushels ef coke per week.
The coke must be made out of the best quality of
Allegheny or Pittsburgh coal, and be free from
ashes, dust, and small pieces of coke. Pieces of
less of si7.e than nut coal wil! not betaken. When
manufactered. it must 1 soft, so that it will burn
freely and with a blaze.
The coke will be transported in cars. A bush
el will be taken at 35 pounds, and the quantity
in the cars will be ascertained by the State Scales
in Columbia.
Bidders will state the price delive red in the cars,
and the point where the cars will be received from
and delivered to, the Pennsylvania Railroad. An-
extcnee in getting the cars on or off the suhn
will be at the contracter's charge. Payments
will be made monthly.
