A boy aged about 13 years, son of "William Dougherty, of Washington township, met with a fatal accident last Saturday. lie attempted to ride up Plane 5 on the bumping Warn of a freight . car, and about the time the car was starting observed another car loose, coming down the plane. He, see ing Ids danger, jumped from the car, and his foot stri king a stick, threw him under the wheel, which passed over hi thigh, crushing it frightfully. lie survived but a short time, suffering the most intense agony.
