The Cunnrd Propeller Alps, with Liverpool dates to the 30th ult., arrived this morning, brin ging four days later intelligence. 1 The Liverpool Cotton Market w.-m more buoy ant and middling qualities had advanced l-K'.d. The sales for the three day amounted to 28,000 hales, about one-half of which was taken on speculation and for export. The quotations are: New Orleans fair, GJd; Middling, 5 ll-16ths; Ordinary, 4afd: Mobile and Atlantic fair, Gd; Middling, 5 9-lGths; Or dinary, 4a5&. The imports during the same time amounted to 23,000 bales. The Alps reports having seen on the 30th, at J o'clock in the evening, off Point Lynns, the steamer Pacific, bound from New York for Liv erpool. The Royal Mail Steamahip Cambria arrived at Liverpool on the 29th. . The Liverpool Corn Market shows thattheop rrations in Breadstuff's are confined to the actual wants of the trade, without any material change in prices. . There is more business doing in Manchester and rather better prices are obtained for yarns. There is no political news of interest by this Arrival. " . ENGLAND. A private despatch announces that the En glish fleet would not leave Malta. This may he relied on, as there is reason to believe that an un- r .t. r .: u o of the fleet for the protection of the Sultan of protect Turkey against the encroachments of Russia. A rumor was very current in London on the evening of the 29th, that the Queen had been prematurely confined. FRANCE. The French fleet finally sailed from Toulon for the Archipelago on the 23d of March. It is said that the Emperor feels sore with regard to the opinion alleged to be entertained ' by the English Cabinet on his general policy. TURKEY AXD RUSSIA So far as the statements in the Continental papers are concerned, it docs not appear that the difficulties between Turkey and Russia are yet adjusted. The current report is that the differences will be referred to the arbitration of Leopold, King of Belgium. A congress of the several powers interested is proposed, and Brussels has been named as a place for the conference to be held. The Russian Ambassador Extraordinary was -still at Constantinople. Late accounts received in England report that the Kaffir war had been closed, and that peace was proclaimed by the Governor on the 18th of February. The people of the provinces of Jaudilla and Druourhad moved over to Keitrel with the Gov ernor, who will retain possession of Amatatos. OVERLAND MAIL INTELLIGENCE. The intelligence received by the overland mail states that an embassy, had arrived iu India, ac companied by two missionaries. The revolt still continued. The King was still besieged in a small fortress by his younger brother, who had the whole army with him. The Burmese troops had abandoned Pegu. The rebellion in China was gaining ground ra pidly. The difficulty between Switzerland and Pied mont with Austria and Russia threatens trouble. The conspiracy recently detected was widely developed.
