Gtntlemen Delegates: Having completed our
labors vre are now about to separate and return
to our constituents. Before pronouncing the
Convention adjourned sine die, allow me to re
turn to you my sincere thanks for your gentle
munlv conduct towards the Chair during our
.(..uhpratious. When I assumed the duties of
the position assigned me by your partiality, I
did so under the belief, as I then expressed it,
tint any luck of mine would be supplied by your
kind forbearance. The result has shown that I
was not mistaken. Your entire demeanor has
been characterized by the strictest decorum.
That questions would arise upon which an hon
est difference of opinion would exist, was to be
expected ; but, it is one of the beauties of our
free institutions, that majorities are always al
lowed to settle those differences. It is right
thut it should be so. Were it otherwise, in
stead of having harmony in our deliberations,
anarchy and insubordination would reign, and
our political organizations would be annihilated.
It is admitted that majorities niay sometimes
err may by their numerical strength do acts,
which to the minorities, may seem to be oppres
sive; out, alter an, i respecuuuy suonm,
whether it is not safer for the rights of all to
confide our political interest to the hands of the
former, rather than the latter.
In these remarks let me not be misunderstood.
I wish them to be regarded as of a general
character, without reference to anything that
has transpired here. For one, I aiu willing to
render to others that which 1 claim for myself,
vii; honesty of purpose. Should any thing
have occurred in the progress of our delibera
tions, which has wounded the feelings of any
one, let it be forgotten let us separate as a
band of brothers let no unkind impression be
permitted to remain in the breast of any one
member of the Contention, towards another
let us all remember that the approaching presi-

BALSAM OF WILD CHERRY,
THE BEST REMEDY EVER KNOWN
To man for Coughs, Asthma, Colds Croup, Bron
chitis, Influenza, Bleeding -f the Lungs, iHiJicul
ty of Breathing, Liver Affections, I 'aiu or weak
ness of the Breast or Side, First stays of Con
sumption, r. In short this Balsam is peculiar
ly adapted to every disease of the Lungs and Liver,
which is produced in our ever-varying climate.
WILD CHERRY has long been known to po8
ss important medicinal properties. This fact
is familiar to every matron in our land, and phy
sicians often prescribe it in different forms lor a
variety of complaints. Tar, also, has been equally
noted for its-virtues; and some physicians, whot'e
names are familiar to the whole country, have
gone so far as to declare that even COXSUM1'
TIOX could be cured by that alone. In other
hands, again, it was nearly valueless, owing, no
doubt, to their ignorance in preparing and ad
ministering it a difficulty now entirely obviated
by patient experiment and long experience.
The extraordinary medicinal powers of these
two substances are now, for the first time com
bined and embodied in Dr. Wistar's Balsam of
Wild Cherry. By a nice Iteniical process, every
thing deleterious or eless is rejected, so that
what remains is the most extraordinary and truly
efficacious remedy for all kinds of pulmonary nl
liver diseases ever known to mmi. To convince
all unbelievers that our theory Is really true, we
refer to a few cases of cures performed 1y this
wonderful medicine:
ANOTHER ASTONISHING CURE !
E. KarS,- a highly respectable merchant of
Rushvillc, Fairfield county, Ohio, sent us the
following voluntary tribute to
"DR. WISTAR'h BALSAM OI WILD CHERRY."
Rushvillc, Fairfield co., O, April 6, 1851.
Mr. J. D. Park Dear Sir: 1 wish to btate to
you that my daughter, Amaudat oged sixteen
years, had, about a year since, a very severe at
tack of measles, which reduced her very much,
and left her with a racking cough. I employed
all of the physicians within our reach lor the
purpose of removing her couph. but without
success. She appeared to be sinking into a de
cline, with every symptom of consumption.
I then tried Dr. " Rogers' Liverwort and Tar."
But this aggravated her cough, and gave her pym
toms of a still more malignant character. 1 was
now most seriously alarmed, and it was with trem
bling fear that I from day to day, saw the pro
gress of that insatiable disease, consumption.
I really despaired of my daughter's recovery.
But I providentially saw the certificate of Jona
than Coulson, whose daughter, "Sarah Jane,"
was cured of consumption by ''Wistar's Balscm
of Wild Cherry;" this created a faint hope that
it might help my daughter, and 1 immediately
commenced using it, and it almost instantly gava
relief, her health was improved from the first
bottle, and by the ue of two bottles of -Wistar's
Balsam of Wild Cherry," she was restored to
perfect health, and the is not now at all predis
posed to a cough.
I will say to all that are afflicted with any dis
ease tending to consumption, do not despair, for
Dr. AYistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry will cure
you, if you will but try it, E KALB.
The genuine Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry
has a fac simile of the signature of Henry Wis
tar, M. D. Philadelphia, and "Sanford & Turk"
on a finely executed steel engraved wrapper.
No other can be genuine.
