THE LOUISVILLE STRAIGHT-OUT . CONVENTION. Tie etraight-out: Democrats have met in Convention at Louisville, and have nominated a straight or old' line Demo cratic Presidential ticket, Charles O'Conor and John Quincy Adams. They have adhered to O'Conor in the face of his peremptory declination, ,and have adopted a platform, in s upposition to the mongrel. Democratic candidates and pApciples and to the Republican ticket Of Grant and Wilson. since most members of the old Demo cratic party could not endorse the hybrid platform adopted at Cincinnati, nor re cognize Greeley and Brown as.ropresent atives of the party, another convention b'ecamo a necessity. Hence this Louisville straight-out Democratic movement. It gives the old-liners, according to Col. Dun can, the mon and the principles tof tA, old Demoontic gospel of Jefferson W•rack son ; and, though they expect defeat in this battle on their ticket, they expect to coma out of it with their old. Democratic colors still flying - , and look for the re=call of the desdrters from the radical heresies accepted at Baltimore, and the restoration of the old party to its old landmarki; with the defeat of Greeley and Brown. But it amounts to much mpro than a mere protest against the bargain and sale negotiate - nu Now York and con summated at Cincirnati. ii means the defeat 9f Greeley and Brown 'and tno dloetiba of Grant and Wilson. The lead ers in this movement confess that they. do not expect success for their ticket, but do expect it to load to such disaffec tion in the ranks of the Liberal party as, to result in the defeat of that ticket and the election of the Republican. ; . ' Heretofore, on several momentous M ~ miens, a third or a fourth party in the Presidential contest has turhed the scale. In 1844 the 7ittle third party of the aboli tionists, in taking off from' HerTir - cr ia:-' ~fifteenthousand abolition whig votes in the western part of New York, gavO he ( i. ' St ti to Polk by a' small majority, and e oted hiin ( President. Iu 18#1, as a ird party' candidate, . Martin Van uree, in diViding the Democraide vote . o ew York,' defeated the, regular party - nominee,: General Cass, and elected Gdff-' Oral- Taylor, the whig candidate. In 1856 Fillmore, as a third party candidate, defeated Freinont, and smiled the elec- Hen of Buchanan. In 1800, in their divisions :upon several candidates result , ' ing from their' break-up at CharleSton,' ,the Demnoratspermitted the_ election to go by default in favor of Lincoln. • BLOIS county-there are many Demo:, ~ orate Who have been awaiti t ug aniiously the reglilt of the LOhisville r Conventidn.
