TRADE
The undersigned respectfully an
nounces to the public, that he is furnish
ing Coal , to families and limbhurners at
50 cents reduction on current market
rates in Cumberland county.
When we commenced Shipping Coal to
this market in Fifth-nary, 1870, coal deal
ers were averaging $1.50 t0 .. 42.00 per
ton profit on their sales. This percent
age was deemed exorbitant. Complaints
were made that the coal was badly
screened, and deficient in weight.
Shortly after we commenced the sale
of coa4i there was a collapse in the price
of the article, giving it a downward tend
ency, until our standard of prices was
nearly reached. In this aspect ok the
case, it may be considered we, haim been
a benefactor to the community_; and in
another : Purchasers bngag,ing coal
from us invariably obtain the article

has given in all cases satisfaction, and is
pronounced on all hands to be superior in
quality, cleanliness, -&e., and uniformly
