our sad task this week, to record the
death of Mr. Adalbert WlVilliams, in
Newville, on Monday last. Mr. M.' was
a member of the " art preservative,"
arid hold "cases" in the Telegraph
(Harrisburg) office, prior to his death.
The deceased possessed many amiable
qualities, which endeared him to all with
whom he associated. The remains were
interred'in tic cemetery at Newvillc, oh
Wednesday forenoon, followeß to their
lase, silent resting-place, by a large
Dumber of friends and acquaintances.
He leaves a wife and child to mourn his
loss. Peace to his ashes.

ptirposo of organizing a district S. S.
Institute. - The meeting was presided
over by 11. S. Ritter, Her. W. M. Fry-
singer, chairman of committee. On
drafting Constitution, reported. a Joni' of
Association, which,. with several amend
me fits,. was unanimously adopted. After
the adoption of the Constitution, the
following officers were elected during the
ensuing year ;.

Stock ; Treasurer, A. 11. Adams.

When we commenced shipping coal to
this market in February, 1870, coal deal
ers were averaging $1.50 to $2.00 per
ton profit on their sales. This percent
age was deemed

were maile, that the coal was badly
screened, and deficient in weight.
Shortly after we commenced the sale
of coal, there was a collapse in the price
of the article, giving it a downward tend
ency, until our standard of prices was
nearly reached. In this aspect of the
case, it may be "considered we have been
a benefactor to the community ; and in
another : Purchasers engaging coal
from us invariably obtain the article
ordered. .
