our thanks to the citizens (and especially
the ladies) of this ,place and surrounding
counrty, for their hearty co-operation in
the Fair, recently held in this place, for
the purpose of liquidating a debt re
, mining on our nail. Tho entire
receipts of the Fair amounted to $1,263 -
68 ; expenditures, $441.60, leaving as
$810.02 nett proceeds, which will, very
materially, relieve the financial in
cumbency resting upon us.
• in closing, we express to all a kindly
wish—to thoja lies for their unremitting
labors—to the gentlemen for their
liberality—that oar recent holiday work
will ever be green in the meprory of all
who: participated in -the Citizens' Fair
of - flew Kingkton.

DURING the Bast week we have been
visited with a regular January thaw,
causing the snow that had but recently
fallen to disappear very quickly. But
everybody seemed to enjoy the delight
ful weather, and appeared in a good
humor generally, over the brief respite
from the severities,of Winter, to which
we had been subjected. •
