this place, you will pardon the liberty
lam taking. I fool that it is my duty to
tender to you and all the members ofyour
family my heartfelt thanks for the kind
manner in which I have -been treated,
while an inmate of this prison. Allow me
also, to thank - you in behalf of my Mother,
with her -hope that you may never know
trouble. Believe me dear Madam rhave
not always been the I am now
supposed to be; but I might now be tilling
a respectable position in society, had I ta
ken the good advice of my friends. But
instead I must eke out the best years of my
life within the gloomy walls of the peniten
