according to directions. They are all throe to be
taken at the same time. They cleanse the Stomach,
relax the liver, and put It to work: then the appe

blood: the patient begins to grow In flesh, the
diseased matter ripens in the lunge, and the pa

'the only way to cure consumption. •
To these three medicines Dr. J. 11. Schenk, of
Philadelphia, owes his unrelated auecesa in the
treatment of pull:denary consumption The Pul
monies Syrup ripens the morbid matter in the lungs,
nature throws It off by an easy expectoration, hi
when the phlegm or matter Is ripe, a slight cough
will throw It off, and the patient has rest and the
lunge begin to heal.
T 6 40 this, the Seaweed Tonic and Mandrake Pills
must bo freely used to cleanse the stomach and liver,
so that the Primente Syrup and the food will make

do; nothing has ever been Invented except calomel
(a deadly poison which is very dangerous to use un
loss,w th groat care), that will unlock the gall bind

Mandrake Pills.
*Liver complaint le one of the most Rromkterkt

The groat ioason why physicians donit`cure con

medicine to atop the Cough, to stop chills; to stop
night sweats, hectic fevers and by so doing they de
range the whole _digestive powers, locking up the
sderetions, and eventually the patient sinks and dies.
Dr Schenck, in treatment does not try to stop.

the cause and they will all stop of their own atoord.
No one can he cured of Consumption, Liver Com

NEW ADVERTISEMENTS.
JJNION PACIFIC RAILROAD -CO
Central Pacific Railroad
FIRST I MORTGAGB BONDS
This greatenterprise la< approaohing•.eompletioa
with a rapidity that, astonishes the world. Over
fifteen (1600) hundred miler have been built by two
(2) powerful companies; the thillio Pacific Railroad,
beginning at Omala, building 'met, and the Cm,
ral Pacific. Railroad biginning at Sacramento, and
building east, until the two roads shall moot. Lem
than two hundred and fifty mllea remain to be
built. The greater part of the Interial is now grad
ed, and it le reasonably expected that the Stimuli'
connection between San Francisco , and NOW York
will be completed by July 1.
ds the amount of Government aid given to Sash
Is dependent upon thelength Of road each shall
build, both companies are prompted to great efforts
to secure the construction and control of what,
when completed, telll bo one and 'the only grand
Railroad Line 00m:edif" the Atlantic and Paciflo
oast.
'One Hundred and Ten Wilton DoUMW ($110,00,-

two powerful companiep engaged In this great en.
Unwise, and they will speedily complete the por
tion yet to be built., When the United States Gov
.ernment-lbund-ii-necesssmr tcrueurertherronetrtiV. —
Hon of the Pacific Railroad, to develop and protest
its own Interest, It gave the companlea authorised
to build It audit ample aid u should render Its
speedy completion beyorid a doubt. The Govern
ment aid may be briefly siimmed• up as follows:
?init. The right of way and all necessary timbet
and atone from public domain.
Second. It makes a donation of 12,800 aeiea of
!slid to the mile, which, when the road fa completed,
will amount to, twenty-throe million (23,000,000)
acres, and all of It within twonty (20) Miioll_ of
railroad.
Third. It loans the companion fifty million dol
lars ($50,000,000), for'which it takes a second lien.
The Gefornment hue already loaned the Union
Pacific Railroad twenty-four million and fifty
eight thousand dollars ($24,058,000, and to the
Central Pacific Railroad seventeen million sit hun•
Bred and forty-eight thousand (17,048,000), amount-%,
lug In all to forty ono million seven hundred and
six thousand dollars ($41,708,000).
The Companies are permitted :to.,lente their own
First Mortgage Bonds to the same amount as they
receive from the United states, and no more. The
companies halo sofa to permanent - irriestors , about
($40,000,000) forty million dollars of the First
Morlgage Bonds. The companies have already
paid in (including . net earnings not divided, grants
from State - of California, and :sacrament° city and
San Francisco), upwards
,of (625,000 000) twenty.
five million dollars capital stock.
WHAT il3 THEM YET TO BE DONE t
In considering this question it must lie remsm•
bared that all the remaining iron - ]Wish.-the
road le contracted for, and the largest portion paid
.for and now delivered on the line of the Arnim/
Pacific Railroad and the Central Pacific Railroad,
sunhat the grading hi almost finished.
Rugs
WHAT ItadIIROEH" HAVE THE COMPANISI
. First. They will receive from the Government as
the road'progreeses about $9,000,000 additional.
Second. They ran issue their own Fiat Mortgage
Bonds for about $0,000,000 additional.
Third. The companies now hold" almost all the
land they have up to this time received from the
.Glovernment upon the completion of the road they
will have received in all 23,000,000 acres, which at
51,60 per tore would be worth $34,600,000.
In addition to the above the net earnings of
the roads and additional capital, If necessary, could
be celled in to ilnish the road.
WAY BUSINESS-ACTUAL BARNINGS
N c e ono has over expressed a doubt that a. goon
as the road is completed Its through business will
be abundantly profitable.
