Math - of October 1868, the population was

last year it was estimated that these figures
had increased to 15,000, more than double
in one year. It is supposed that dbring, the

come in. There is not a busihess man in the'
city, or any other well informed person who
puts the population on the first day of Jan
' unry 1869 below 25,000,- some place it above
30,000. This extraordinary inereicie in pop
ulation has RI corresponding abet upon the
value of real estate, and the consequence is'
