thracite coal advantage. Different sixes' of coal
require more or ess depth fOromrfect combustion.
2—A Funnel, or Hopper, for the passage of the
coal to the magazine is so arranged as to permit the
introduction of (refill coal, without allowing any.
escape of fumes and gee Into the-room; and-iurther,
when the Stove is loft with its top uncovered, com
polling any fume that ma} escape from the supply
in tno reservoir, upwards to its top, to pass over the
top of tho reservoir into . the, surrounding flue, and
so to the ba-o and ontlet. - -
3.—A Fire-sot with a continuoui - Nluo, over its
entire upper edge and 'down its whole body to the
base and outlet flues by which manna the heat Is
transmitted, net in separate flues several inches
apart, as is usual in downward draft-Stoves, but b 3
