of Westpennsborb' . Twp. on Saturday
evening Sept, let, the following preambles
and resolutions were unahimously adopted.
Whereas, we Wive thatrebols of 1861 are
rebels of 1806, and that they are whipped,
—not subjugated nor made truly penitent—v
and that their last efforts to obtain coptrol
of the Government of the
. .United States
under the leadershill of the "one man"
President, Andrew Johnson, and of 'this
State, by the infamous copperhead thester
Clymer, iS only an effort to regain by polit
ical intrigue what they had lost upon battle
fields, made red with the blood of our Fath
ers, Brothers and Sons poured out in the de-.
fence of the cause of human freedom, there
fore be it resolved,
let. That WO are for the Constitution and
the Union, that wu are determined none
but loyal man shall run the machinery of
Government., both State or National : and
to this end we are in favor of the Constitu
tional amendment of Congress, and will not
support any in an who is not sound on the:ie
points.
2nd. That we will 4tand by Cung•ress, in
its heroic struggle, with the treachery of
Andrew Johnson.
3rd. That imuunuch thliCld stay-at
home rebels \ter° in favor of the ltuinn
