Gentlemen :—I have recently I een laboring under
the distrtisifing.efTects of indigestion, accompanied by
a prostration of the nervous system. Numerous rem

tested, but without relief. Your Ileofiand's German

them, and whose favorable mention of these bitters
Induced me to'try them. I must confoes that I had
an aversion to Patent Medicines from the "thousand

Altoough not disposed to favor or recommend Patent
Medicines in general, through distrust of their ingre
dients and effects, I yet know of. no sufficient reasons
why a man may not testify to the benefits he believes
himself to have received from any simple preparation,
in the hope that he may thus contribute to the bene
fit of others. Ido this the more readily In regard to
lloofiand's Germlin Bitters, prepared by Dr. C. M. Jack
son, of this city, Otecause I was prejudiced against them
for many years, itnder the impression that they were
chiefly an alcohdlic mixture. 1 ism indebted to my
friend, Robert Shoemaker, Esq., for the removal of this
prejudice by proper tests and for encouragement to try
them when suffering from greet and long continued
debility. The 1180 of three bottles of these Bitters at
the beginning of the present year, was followed by
evident relief and restoration to a degree of bodily and
mental vigor which I had not felt for' six months be_

Blue Mass, and other preparations of Mercury, a,
tually produce more suffering and death than the die
eases which they Profess to cure. And yet this corro
sive mineral so denounced by the allopathic doctors, is
prescribed by them almost universally in Liver Com
plaint, Consumption of Lungs, &c.
TILL MANDIIA [CE PILLS
are composed entirely of roots and herbs, obtained from
the great storehouse of Nature, and their salutary ef
fects wilt appear as soon as the medicine Is brought to
the test of s fair experiment. SCLIENCIVS MAN
DRAKE KILLS do not produce any nausea or sicknes
of the stomach ; but when given for Dyspepsia, it may
be proper to use them in connection with_SCHLNCK'S
SEAWEED TONIC. By this judicious treatment, the
digestive fitculties aro speedily restifrett to„their full
vigor, and the worst moms of indigr;s4ori may bo cured.
When we reflect that the liver ifsthe largest Inter
nal organ of the body, that to it is a4ligneil the impor
tant duty of filtering the blood anctpireparing the bile,
that it is subject to many disorders, and that when It
Is diseased or Inactive the whole body suffers sympa
thetically, it Is not surprising that a medicine a hlch
can restore the healthy operations of the Liver should
produce wonderful changes in the general health, and
effect tures which may appear to bo illmost miraculous.
Headache of long continuance, severe pains in the side,
breast and shoulders, aching of the limbs, a feeline of
general weakness and wretchedness, and other alarm
ing and distressing'symptomo, indicative of imperfect
or disordered action of the liver, are speedily removed
by the use of SCHENCK'S 'MANDRAKE PILLS.
Costiveness, plies. bitter or 'our eructations, and
that Indescribable feeling el:oppression, mental anxle.
ty, languor, lethargy, and depression of spirits which
unfit a man for the management of business and the
enjoyment id life, are all relieved by the use of
SCHENCK'S MANDRAKE PILLS.
Dr. Satin:ca.—Dear Sir : I take pleasure in sending
you a certificate in addition to many you have already
received from suffering humanity. I can scarcely find
language sufficiently strong to express my heartfelt
gratification of the wonderful cures your 'MANDRAKE
PILLS and SEAWEED TONIC have effected In the en-
tire cure of one of the most stubborn rases of the affec
tion of the liver. For three years I suffered beyond de
scription ; all my friends, as wen as myself; came to the
conclusion that my time In this life was short. Such
was the terrible condition to which I was reduced that
life to me had become a burthon ; my whole system
was in a state of inflammation ; I could not eat I
could not sloop ; my whole body was fi lled with pain;
swelling would arise in my wrists and ankles, render
ing them totally useless. On several occasions I was
attacked with a rush of blood to the head, which would
fell me to the ground, and I would be carried sway for
dead. I applied to several eminent physicians of our
city, who administered all the medicines that they
thought would roach my case, but of no avail.
One of them said he could do no mere for me, arand
vlsed ass last resort, to drink cod liver oil. Not
relishing illo horrid trash I declined to take it. ' Ikecb
dont put your advertisement In my hands. I ...lied
on you ; you examined me and told me the nature of
my disease. You then ordered me the Pills and Tonle
with an observance of diet; pledging your word that'll
one week I would find myself another man. I follow.
ed your advice, and, as you predicted, an astonishing
cure was effected. 1 continued your Pills and Tonic
for some time, and now thank God for his goodness,
and your valuable medicine, I am once more restored
to psi foal health. I most earnestly recommend those
who are suffering from affection of the liver to give
your Pills anti Tonic a fair trial, and a cure will be of
fected. I have sent many persons to you, and they
have all boon cured. Any information my follow chi.
sons may require will be freely given by the subscri
