From the N. Y. Herald, fopt. b.—Upon a careful ex.

obtained are a very fine flinging tone, great purity and
brilliancy Throughout the entire instrument, not often
found in Pianos constructed upon the old plan.
The N. Y. Times, July 12, says:—We have now an
instrument without an equal. It can slug with a
smooth delicapy,_porfectly unattainable on any other

Gentlemen :—I have recently eon laboring under
the distressing effects of Indigestion, accompanied by
a prostration of the nervous system. Numerous rem
edies were recommended by friends, and some of them
tested, but without relief. Your Heofiand's German
Bitters were recommended by persons who had tried
them, and whose favorable mention of these bitters
Induced fee to try them. I must confess that I had
an, aversion to Patent Medicines from the "thousand
and one" quack ''Bitters," whose only alms seems to
be to palm off sweetened and drugged liquor upon the
community ina sly way, andtho tendency of which,
I fear, is to make many a confirmed dninkard. Upon
learning that ,yours was really a medicinal prepara
tion I took It with happy affect. Its action, not only
upon the stcmach, but upon the nervous system, was
prompt and gratifying. I feel that I have derived
great and permanent benefit from the use of a few
bottles.
From R0y..1. Newton Brown, D. D., editor of the En
cyclopedia of Religious .Knowledgo and Chilstlan
Chronicle Philahelphia.
Altaough not disposed to favor or recommend Patent
Medicines In general, through distrust of their Ingre
dients and effects, I yet know of no sufficient reasons
why a man may not testify to the benefits he believes
himself to have received from any eimple preparation,
in the hope that he may thus contribute to the bene
fit °tethers. Ido this the more readily in regard to
iloofland's German Bitters, prepared by Dr. 0. M. Jack
son, of this city, because I w as prejudiced against thorn
for many years, under the impression that they were
chiefly an alcoholic mixture. lam indebted to my
friend, Robert bhoomaker, Esq., for the removal of this
prejudice by proper tests and for encouragement to try
them when suffering from great Auld long continued
debility. Tho use of three bottles of Muse Bitters at
the beginning of the present year, was followed by
evident relief and restoration to a degree of bodily and
mental vigor which I had not felt for six months be
fore, and had almost despaired of regaining. I there--
fore thank God and my friend for directing mo to the
use of them.
From the Rev. E. D. Fondall, Assistant Editor Chris
tian Chronicle, Phila.
hive 'dorlvid deelded benefit from the use of Hoof
land's German Bitters, and feel It my privilege to rec
ommend them as a most valuable tonic, to all who aro
su Raring from general debility or from disoasoe arising
from derangement of tine liver.
Yours, truly. E. D. FENDALL.
From Roy. D. rderrlgo, Pastor of the Passyunic Bap
tist Church, Phila.
From the many respectable recommendations given
given to Dr. llootland'a Gel man Bitters, I was induced
to give them a trial. After using several bottles I
found them to bo a good remedy for debility, and a
Most excellent tonic for stomach.
From the Rev. VtIOS:IVINTIgIt; B. b., ranter of Rox
porough Baptist Church.
Bann Bm I feel it duo to your, excellent preparation
Iloofiand'a Gorman Bitters, to add my testimony to
the deserved reputation it haa.obtained.,. I. have for
years, at times, boon troubled .with. great disorder In
my head and nervous system. Was advised by a
friend to try a bottle of year Gormanbilttera rdid so,
and have experienced a great andfdiaexpected relief.
My health has been very materially benefited.. I con.
fidently recommend the article whsra I caret with cases
similar to my own, and have boon assured by many of
their good effects. Respectfully yours, ,
