A RE the only'lnstrunients construCted
12,0 n a truly scientific princ 10. They have groat
or strength, and will remain longer in Tune than any
other Piano. The construction is simple and natural
all the extraneous lumber in the body of the instru
ment is dispensed with; the sound boards aro merely
two arched planks of thin wood, like the froht and
back of a vanlin ; the etrings'are attached to a strong
iron !mule, which is separated and ontire.y independ
ent of the case, thereby dispensing wieu the old harp
form of stringing, by substitutin , straight bridges,
preserving at the same time Over Strung Bass, of
'which Mr. Driggs ho the inventor. By these improve
ments we gain much more vibratory power, at the
same time preceici,.g all its purity and richness of
tone.
They have received the higheat testimonials from the
Press, and all the principal artists - in the country,
among which are:
Harry Sanderson, L. M. Gottschalk,
Max Maretzek, S. Thalberg,
Theodore Bistleid, AVm. Mason,
Herman Wollonhaupt, A. Barili,
Francis H. Brown, M. Strackosch,
Wm. Henry Fry, Chas. Fradel.
Mr. SEGESMUND TIIALIIEIIU, the great pianist,
says :—I have examined your new Piano-fortes, end I
cordially approve of its system of construction. Its
principle, by which great increase of vibratory power is
obtained, being very simple and perfectly philosophi
cal. The tone is grand and noble; it has great capac
ity for sustaining the sound or singing, end its vol
ume of tone or power I have never heard excelled in
depth, purity, and sympathetic sweetnes,
Wm. lIENRIT PRY, late musical critic of the N. Y.
Tribune says have examined your newly invented
Piano-Fortes. They merit all the praise given to them
by Messrs Thalberg, Gottschalk, Strackoseh, Mason
and others. As regards structure, they are original
and philosophical; in purity, volume, and continuity
of totie; 'in vocal vorsimilitude, that crowning exceL
lenee which enables the planb.ts to " sing" on the in
strumeut, your Pianos ever deserve the highest rank
Your luventitm, in my opinion, is destined to work
a radical change in the manufacture of Pianos through
out the world.
MEM
From the N. Y. Herald, Fopt. s.—Upon a careful ex
amination of Drigg's Piano-Forte, we find the results
obtained are a vary fine singing tone, great purity and
brilliancy throughout the entire instrument, not often
found in Planoneonstructed upon the oh] plan.
The N. Y. Times, July 12, says.:—We have now an
instiument without an equal. It can sing with a
smooth delicacy, perfectly unattainable on any other
instrument; an ordinary player obtains with no exer
tion, the fullness of a Grand Piano-Norte, and they
must speedily supersede the old styles.
GENTI.F.MEN:—Having thoroughly examined and
tested the Piano-Fortes invented and patented by Sir
It. Pt iggs, I am 01 the opinion that the lone result
g front his improvements, as exhibited in the in
. I ann-ets under examination, In point of richness
pth and brilliancy, equals that of the best Grand
moo Est tee, and excels them in pure, musical inton
ation and actual tone, power thus approximating
closer to what I consider perfection in the instrument
than has yet been achieved by any other system of
untuntacture.

I have known lloolland's German Bitters fAvorably
for a number of years, I have used them in.my own
family, and have been so pleased with their effects,
that I was induced to recommend Chem to ninny oth
ers, and know that they have operated In a strikingly
beneficial manner. I take great pleasure in thus pub
licly proclaiming this fact, and calling the attention
of those afflicted with the diseases for which they are
recommended, to those bitters, knowing from experi
ence that my recommendation will be sustained. I
do this more cheerfully as Iloofland's Bitters is intend
ed to benefit the afflicted, and Is "not a rum drink.'
Yours, truly,
J. NV. SMILEY,
From Roy. W. D. Solgfriod, Pastm 01 Twollth Bop
tint Church, Phila.
Gentlemen :—I have recently eon laboring under
the distressing effects of indigestion, accompanied by
a prostration of the nervous system. Numerous rem
edies were recommended by friends, and some of them
tested, but without relief. Your Ileolland's German
Bitters were recommended by persons who had tried
them, and whose favorable mention of these bitters
Induced me to try them. I must confess that I had
an aversion to Patent Medicines from the "thousand
and one" quack "Bitters," whose only aims seems to
be to poi n off Sweetened and drugged liquor upon the
community in a sly way, and the tendency el which,
I fear, is to make many a confirmed drunkard. Upon
learning that yours was really a medicinal prepara
tion I took it with happy effect. Its action, not only
upon the stomach, but upon the nervous system, was
prompt and gratifying. I feel that I have derived
great groat and permanent benefit from the use of a
few bottles.
Prom A. 51 Spangler, Editor of tho Culturlst, No

Some eighteen mouths since I was a severe sufferer
from Dyspepsia. I was not only unable to tithe plain
food without suffering great distress, but hid become
so debilitated as to be almost unfitted for active busi
nvss of any kind.
After trying a van lay of so-called remuilloF, oil of
which proved worthless, I was Induced, at the sugges
tion of a medical friend, to give It Dermati
Bitters a trial. I accordingly purelmsed Mx bottles,
Nv h leh were lahun In accord:mei) with your direcilons.
Thu result Waft complete removal of all distressing
symptoms, after eating or drinking, and n full restora
tion of strength, so that I now oat all ordinary kinds
of food with impunity, and am able to attend to all
the actives duties of a largo and arduous business as
well as at any period of my life, the good effects of the
Bitters wore manifested benne 4 , had taken the first
bottle.
I have also used It in my family with the happleirt
results, and take great pleasure In adding my testi
nony to that of the inanyActhers who have boon bone
fitted by them. I fled great benefit from the use of a
bottle iu the spring and fall. They not only create a
vigorous appetite, but give a health tone to the stom
ach,hy strengthening its digestive powers.
If the above testimony will be the means of indue-
Ink any who - euffer,Ccom dyspepsia to give your bitters
a trial (when it, I fed confident, will give them re
lief,) It is at your service, Yours, truly,

FEMALES! I
From the many refipectable recommendations given
given to Dr. Hooiland's German hitters, I woo Induced

found them to be a good remedy for debility, and a
most excellent, tonic for the stomach..

Having used In my brolly a number of bottles of
your Masud's German Bitters. I have to say that I
regard themes an earceliont medicine, specially adapt

They strengthen and invigorate the system when do

them great)) , beneficial in the restoration of health
