Leather, Slaughter .Leather and Calf Skins.
from the tanneries of W. M. Watts, henry
Ilickernell and John tlendenin, were on ex
hibition. It wits very superior in size. tan
nage and dressing.
H. C. & J. D. Chenowith exhibited a
Letnon Tree and Cotton Plant.
Margaretta Sturm 2 cases of Bonnets, Mrs,
A. O. Schtiehman also exhibited • tlll,O- t
bonnets, and Mrs. S. A. Hutton had a line
display of bonnets and fancy millinery trim
mings. Minme Parker had on exhibition
a beautiful sett of Hair Jewelry.
John Rinehart a pair of superior horse
shoes,
A tine assortment of Stoneware, manufac
tured at Newvi Ic, was exhibited by Semi. '
I. It vine. The ware made by Mr. Irvine
for beauty of loran and durability of,material
is not excelled by any similar ware in the
State, and we are happy ,to • learn that the
demand for his ware is daily increasing.
John Gutshall exhibited a section of a
patent Bee-hive. The queen bee of this hive
is saidito be an Italian •bee, much superior
to ours.
Several pounds of splendid butter was ex

Spangler & McCreary had some boxes of
very tine Segars of Connecticut and Havana
Tobacco. A lot of Sc.g i ars from Seedleaf to
bacco was also onexh;bition by Waggoner
& Armstrong of Harrisburg.
A model for a patent Flood Fence was ex
hibited bk,A.. Ralston.

John Mcßride' exhibited a
. Flour Barrel
tad' Win. Park' a Beer Keg, both of which
were among the finest specimens of cooper
log.
John Campbell, scent for the Wheeler &
Wilson and Idowe's patent Sewing Machines,
lied several of them on exhibition. These
machines have taken the highest premium's
at all exhibitions, and claim to have many
advantages nut possessed by othern achines.

A. Parlor Organ with no\V combination
swell, was exhibited by J. D. Raffensberger
of Mechanicsburg. The tones of this instru
ment are clear and 5 wool, and by aid of the
swell, acquire a full, round, organ like char
acter.
Estey's -Melodeon and Cottage, Organ was
11,,, exhibited-by M. Bruce of Philadel
phia. The same exhibitor had also the "'Ar
monk Organ f. t• Chum-hes and Public Halls.
The tone of this latter instrument was nearly
quid to an ordinary sizod pipe organ. We
have not musical knowledge sufficient to ex
pre., an opinion on these instrumoiti , , nor
space to describe them more fully.
The skill and patient inilti-try of the la
dies W7t- \Veil represented in the number itch
nriety of the Quilts pliwed by them' on ex
hibition Mrs. Dr. Coover had it fancy
quilt. Mrs. C. jlncur,ut had two, both in
imitation of shill work.

strongly commend the Officers and Managers
of the Society, for the perfect system and
good ord r which characterized the entire_
exhibition. True, there was n greater num

drill," where, it we believe the "blower,"

"snows" were mere blinds to cover'certain
gambling nrrangeinents; but theywere
