The' Copperheads are determined that

many parts of the, State, are already de

votes from being cast for the amendment.
They are arr:nging for a quiet but con

NAVAL SUPERIORITY.
The English, who had been so long vapor

American naval steamer afloat, are solacing
'themselves for the chagrin caused by her loss
in the battle with the Kearsarge, by showing
how the . Alabama might have been Victori
ous. Thus Captain Blakeley, whose gun
theory was damaged by the tailore of his
rifledguni in a eon le:it with Dahlgren ,anooth
bores, puplishes a card to say that if ti , .trnM2.4

TlTe PATDI i 9 IS K ENTUCK Y.—The guer

on the highways kind robbing the passengers
and the : mails. These brigands are reported
as incensing, mare daring every day, and the

safe for any one to travel in the State.=
There are in KentuCky, as in other loyal I
States. thousands of persons who, while re. '

by Jheir equivocal position, to render the

This fact inrnishee one good warrant for thl

A turnout among the employees on the

fur the weak, an] . up to yesterday they had

They allege that they are entitled to this ad

on toll and transportation by the Reading

This strike has kept at least 75,00 tons of
