Tue CRY 01 "4DOLITIONISTS."— Down in
the land. of &cassia, tho traitors vigorously
brand every ono who is in favor of the Union,
as an "abolitionist," just as their sympathi
sers, the Breckinridges acid Vallandighomers,
do here in the North. Just let nay man in
the North be au earnest Union man, and how
vigorously every seoossion sympathising
scoundrel will shout "abolitionists" after him.
As beario& upon this matter, Judge l3reokin
ridge, of Missouri--a Bell-Everett Unionist,
and a member of the Convention of that State
recently had occasion, in addressing that
body, to remark :
'lthink 1 may say that, -without any opin
lot, on_ this subject, that would justify the
charge. there in not to' ho fotind in the State
of Missouri a single men of marked loyally
who has not already been denounced as an
Abolitionist, when, in point of fact, he is as
_jar removed from them as he is in though or
"sympathy from those who prefer the charge.
This charge has been so often and so
flippantly made, that I have come to consider
it as, perhaps. the most unfailing test of a man's
loyality, that he has been denounced as an
Abolitionist. That man who has been so suc
cessful in tempering his loyalty throughont
this struggle us to avoid incurring the hostili
'ty of the class engaged in treason, and their
sympathisers. to such tin extent as not. -to
incur the application of that epithet, I will
not say he is not loyal, but I will say his
loyality has, in all probability, not borne any
very distinguished fruits "
We commend this - Paragraph to the poor
creatures in this County who are continually
spurting "abolitionist" at every true and de
termined friend oc our glorious govornntent
and Union

OUR FALLEN BRAVE
It is with a heavy heart, and a trembling
hand, that we sit down to record the names of
those of our frllow•citizens, who having ot
lured up their all iu defence of their beloved
country, have fallen. Nutdemen they were!
And though the bodies of those slain tnay
never be tecovered, the recollection of their
heroic valor, will never die in the memory of
their countrymen. And as long as American
institutions are cherished bf the oppressed,
so long will they be held up as exemplars to
future generations—as martyrs, who, taking
their lives in their hands faltered not ; but
died like heroes—tieing their whole duly
To the deeply afflicted relatives we extend
our heartfelt sympathy and condolence, ex

The list we give is necesenrily incomplete,

Europe.
lirj'JNO. LEE Esq has opened a re

POLICE ITEM.—John Myers was nr
roma on Thursday evening last, in a stale of
extreme inebriation. It appears that John
was so unfortunate as to be taken suddenly
drunk. The liquor was not of the fighting
kind, but of (hat disoription which brings
out all the affection in a man's divositiom
And caused John to attempt to kiss several
females on the street. Not aolmiring this
proceeding the seivices of Constable Martin
were called into requisition. Poor fellow.
"He loved not wisely but too well."
CA,PTURED GUERILLAS.—On Sunday
last, a train passed over the Cumb. Valley
Railroad, containing some twenty Rebel guer
illas, who had been captured in the Shenan
doah valley. Among L. Coo prisoners was a
young man named Louis Cook, a son of
Stephen Cook, a former citizen of this place,
who removed to Kentucky about 2 years
ago. Cook Senior, when here, was
Breckenridge Democrat and sympathizer with
Southern treason. The son was not 'old
enough then to have any decided opinions,
but the germ had been implanted in 'kiln, and
only waited are opportunity for develope
meta. $o they ; the trimition, —from
Breckenridge Democracy, to armed rebellion
ion very •easy - ,and natural one. In this cum
the young man referred to, will have ample
time in 1?ort Delaware, to eliminate the pCOn.
liar benefits of nothort campaign in treason. ,
If the results are not satisfactory, we hope'
they will at least prove instructive.
