ad by the Court to vlsitand examine Into the con
dit on and present management of the Priorllouse of
this County, respectitilly present the following report:
That in the discharge of our duties wo here visited
said Institution at raviolis tirue the past year, and
at every visit made a thorough inspection of all the
haildings, 'their different apartments, and how occu•
pied, and are pleased to find in all of them, evidences
of the indefatigable exertions of the present - Sto weld
to maltil this Instittition a cheerful and cornforts 4 ble
home to those Win) rhceiveits benefits: These wholre
(in the opinion of. the Steward) able' to Work, are re•
quired to do so. The sick are kindly cared for, and
treated by the TO:tending Phvelehin, wife, by the by,
appears to be a favorite with the flock; they also receive
the attention of faithful nurses. The inmates general
ly aro cheerful Old obodiont. - and good order prevails
throughout that:landing. They aro Supplied comfort•
able clothing, and geed and wholesome food, the rooms
are clean and well ventilated; the beds are well at ,
ranged and lied ifig comfortable.' Apartlioin the main
building is another buildin whotionecupants aro prin
cipally colored, which also be e a - clean and tidy appear.

shows the following statement! 'The number in the
house on January Ist, 1801; was 130, of wheel 18 were '
colored, admitted since, 2.415; birth; 0; milting the mum
' 13-r provided for .10_0; of these 23 have died, 5 of whom •
were colored. 5 ha ys bound out and 231 'discharged;
leaving in the house 141, of wlitan 10 aro colored; the
out door paupers aro 92, of these 3 are sup Potted in the
State Lunatic Asylum at Ilarrialairg, making the whole
number chargoable.on danuary.ist, 1862, 203. Inatidt,
