dopted by the Carlisle Gas and Wator'Company, to take
effect from end after the first day of April next. It has
boon carefully prepared, and is rather under than above
Gm rates in neighboring towns. Tho inequalities of the
existing tariff and Its installcioncy has compelled the
present action of the Company. Tho 'works, at beta,
yield a small per cent. on the cost of construction, and
leaf protection requires that the revenue' should bear
some reasonable proportion to the expenses of the erec
