difficulty In getting , any one to purchase It was greatly
increased from the fact that a remedy -hid been Intro.
duced which was growing In favor,..:with the .public as
being better than using Quinine--not knowing, ',pro.-
sumo, that the remedy they used to escape taking Qui
nine contained the DRUM ITSEL.
This remedy ((known as " Smith's Tonic," )° would-In.
-variably BREAK an Ague, but it did , not . Cure It, ad it ,
would often return with renewed vigor. This one dr.
cumstance I detained in your Divot; if l'eould :destitute
a. test comparison between It and your CURE, The fol.
lowing is the result;
Three persona took your "Cure," Alija! which were
cases of "Quotidian. IntennittaditA , ever," _of many
weeks standing. They had tried Quinine and other
remedies, occasion-ally mltudng ii , chiU, but it was (as in
all such cases.) slowly wearing them .ont, and laying,
the'foundatk nof other arid severer maladies. 1 did
succeed In effecting a radical burro of .all three of these
cased with your remedy, and they have not had a chill
Mace. In , all three of ihese cases the " Smith's Tonic"
had been used, and would,' as,before stated, break the
chili, but aftbe a period or two bad elapsed it would
return.
I think there will be'ne difficulty new iu . giving to I
your "Cure" the Vantage ground.oY any other remedy
now in use here. Ac-,•Ba WM. BUCKNER, M. A.'
