ANNUAL EXUIBITION
OF TIIE
Cumberland Co. Agricultural Society,
To'bo held on their own., grounds Ai Carlisle on
W ' RD.NEaDAY 'TIIURSDAY And FRIDAY the 17, 18th
and leth of October, 1855.
REGULATIONS.
1. The grounds will be provided with conventent and
secure buthlings and enclosures for the reception and
display of stock, of agricultural and horticultural im
plements, and of manueletured goods. Competition is
invited from all parts of Pennsylvania and the adjoin
ing States. flay and straw will ho firnishod In proper
quantities, at cost price.
'2. The Exhibition will open on Wednesday, October,
17, at 9 oclock, A.M., beford which time all animals
and articles intended for competition must be ou the
grounds and duly recorded at the business office. The
Society will not be responsible thr the, omission of the
Judges to examine objects which are not recorded as
afbresaid.
3. Upon entering their animals, exhibitors, who are
not members of the Society. will be subjected to a
charge of one dollar. On all articles INTENDED FOR COM
PETITION a similar Charge will be made. but articles NOT
intended for crompetition, may be entered gratuitously.
All objects must be described and entered as soon as
taken within the endosu*and must have cards at
tached either to them .0r,,-iietir their phiceon the show
ground; which cards will be furnished by the enteri ng clerk, and will contain the number corresponding to
that In his book, the name of the object exhibited, and
the name of the exhibitor. ,Members of the Society are
not subject to this charge.
4. Every exhibitor, upon his contribution being duly
entered, will receive a season ticket admitting himself
to the grounds during the whole time of the Exhibi
tion.
"b. In all cases of equality of merit In articles exhibit
ed by two or more parties, tho inventor and the manu
facturer shall bo preihrred to the vendor.
B. The Judges will report meritorious objects exhibit
ed and not mentioned in the premium list, to the Com
mittee of Arrangement, who may award such premiums
as they think proper.
7. The ,judges are authorised to withold premiums
when objects are not entitled to distinction, and when
but One of a class, for which a premium is offered, is
exhibited, they will make such award as they think It
merits.
8. No object entered can he removed from the ground
before the close of the Exhibition. and no premium Will
he paid on objects removed in violation of this rule.

11. The reports of the Judges, and the award of pre
miums will be read from the stand on the Thirtl dam of
tho Exhibition at 1 o'clock, I'. M.. and humediately alter
paid by Ueo. W. Shealfer, Treasurer.
12. Price of singlitulssion to the Exhibition, on
foot or In vehicle,"2s cents. For vehicle including
driver, 50 cents.
