STATEMENT OF REV. R. R. WARREN
(Pastor of the 2d Baptist Cb . o rel),N cw London
Ct. : ). relative to l'ilyetir Extroot..ROse.
To Thipjlinerioan Public.'
As my name has been used in connection
with
_recommendations of Mr.' Myers' Reck
Rase Syrup, in various advertisements by the
manufacturer, I bog leave•to snake the follow
ing statement y.ith reference to my' a cquai n t.
since with the remedy and tests to which I have
subjected it, and the reasons for having intro
duced it to the notice of private friends in the
community in whlelil reside, long before the
' medicine wan advertised. I make this state
ment freely, because I have, as a principle,.
withheld my name from all patent, medicines,
and sedulously abstained from recommending
them to the public, believing them frequently
the spoten of quackery and humbug, and- as
tending to increarre, instead of lessening human
disease and suffering. Such, I feat, is the
character of alarge f,ortion of the patent pane
ceas of this inedicine.making ago. "Their
name, is legion;" and tram their influence,as
from•tho demoniacal spirits, wo have reason
to pray for a. safe deliverance,
The First T:st.—l had myself suffered oc
casionally with sudden attacks of Sick.Pead
ache, and Billions Diarrhea, and I had siiught .
a great variety of curative agents to but little
purpose ; and suffering Born this disease (diar
rhea) at this time, I determined to test the new
Syrup first upon myself. The results werci be
yond my expectations. • It was a • poWerful
alterative, arid the morbid action - of the erstem
was changed, and the functions of secretion
were restored to a healthy state. It gave tone
and elasticity to my system: and corrected the
derangement of the digestive organs, and Rave
me that inestimable blessing—health. This
test was not determined in a week, ma month;
but I took four or five bottles in perhaps as
many months. Since that time I have stiffer—
ed but slightly from these derangements. My
Sick Headache is on'irely Cprsd.
Other Tests:—Fioding this medicine so use-.
fill to myself; I at once gave it to several inva
lid friends. About this time, I was earnestly
solicited to give advice in reference to a child,
some eight years of ago. This child was
severely afflicted with a Scrofula huniir, of a
very severe type, the humor showindifielfon
ail parts of the surface, and then suddenly dis
appearing. The child was very sick, and k
was thought doubtful whether she would live,
The humor resembled black snooks of mortified
flesh. - In addition to some ether remedies, 1
gave the child this .s.'yrup for about six. weeks,
when she had sufficient strength to go out to
school occasionally. The swellin g of her limbs
ceased, and she was restored to health. The
family feel that they owe her life, with Goes
blessing, to ray remedies.
This test sutiificd tno that the Rock Rose
possessed specifut powers fur. Scrofol us lin
mors. I then tested it in eases of Cutaneous
Eruptions, in Measles, Chicken Pox, Cancer,
Sure Mouth, Eryeipclas,Salt Rheum, Piles, brc.
In all three oases: with perfect success. After
testing this Syrup for more than a year, I
wrote Mr: Myers (October 7th, 1850) enthusi•
astically, not expecting my letter would be
publisned, that his Syrup was a Pmkor Re,"
Mid I gave him • the result of its
operatiena in several instances. 1 steed in
that letter that "it was invaluable Ilea remedy

Ail CORE'S PATENT .GRAIN DRILL AND .SEED PLANTER, for planting wheat, rye,
oats, barley, Indian corn, timothy aced, etc. This machine was patented July 2d, tkso,
Its operation during the `three. peat years has been highly successful 9 wherever it has been thor
oughly tested, its good qualities have been uttiversallv acknowledged; and notwithstanding the
great increase of competition. it still continues to maintain its superiortitY over all ethers Yet in use.
• During the years 1650 and IHSI it receiVed the highest premium at six different Agricultural Ex

in Pennsylvania; while. within the past year it was awarded the first and litglrlet premiums at each
of the county exhibitions of Chester, Berlin and Schuylkill.
The fact that in receiving the above premiums, this machine was brought at several different
times in a fair and open competition,. with a'l the Grain Drills of any note, yet in use, and alter a
careful examination and investigation, by the au:herized committee, was in every instanoe awarded
the highest premium—is ii matter worthy the consideration of the purchaser.
Its principal points of recommendation are ' let —lts durability,.2d its perfect simplicity of con
