Although yet young in the science of

grand pie-requisites, in this I dable sal

the farmer to enter the great laboratory
Of nature,-and there learn hoW beautiful

But a single mistake in tl e time of sow

this part - of - the science, is too much neg

statement. On the farm of Mr. J, con

seventeen-years averaged twenty-four

of which' has been twenty-three • bushels

§o lang as nature shows si'-ns of sum
mer, so long the insect retains a degree
of strength. If therefore itit sow your
seed before the "proper" time, the fly
will be more apt to do 'it injtiry.
Farmers should not seed until nature
gives the true sign, which is when the
forest begins to lose its verdure. This
is a sure sign and then the insect is nos

The liimentable ery is now heard in

The farm and fanner (whose -name I
will witholll,) to which I liiive adverted,
can be found in - our county ; :inn will be
ready to substantiate (if denied) at tiny
time, what I have said.
And it might not be amiss to say Iliac
the present crop would be a lair index
to the sequel.
. Often have I heard him say, when fits

asked why he did not sow, it the sign of
the time for seedfng is not he_re yei."—
Although possessing but a limited odu
cation, this rule he has no doubt learned
frotn observation and investigation.
But I must confess we are much in
debted in our county, for the late im
provements in the science of agriculture
which have been brought about by - the
energetic perseverance of the lion.-Judge
-Watts.lle has. indeed proven himself
worthy of so high an honer. I know of
'none, who deserve rnorg;' of our esteem
-and greatful acknowledginents, for The
promotion of the interests of our county.
May he long live, as her champion, in
'the promotion of good and the advance
