Explosion and. Loss of Llfo
Si. Loom, Feb. 20.—0 n Sunday, a ferry boat
hero burst lier larboard boiler, wrooking the
fore part of her cabin. Mangled bodies and
dead horses were strewn around. 'Fifteen per
sons Were killed, and as many Lave been se
verely scalded or are Missing. . •
Information from Council Grove states that
the Pawnees attacked the Government station
and killed several persons. A company, of
dragoons have been despatched from Fort Lea
venworth to assist in repelling them.

assassin entered the house of Mr. Crosden, last ,
night, near Georgetown Crosi. Roads,- Kent
county, Md., and shot Mr. Crosden. Tho as
sassin then went into the chamber of Mri.
Crosden, whore she was confined on a bed of
sickness, and shot her and her sister, who
was attending her. In Making..his . escape
from the house, the fiend encountered the ser
vant girl, and shot her. till three have since
died! Whet prompted-the-bloody deed or
who is the murderer, is in mystery. Tho most'
intense and painful alarm prevails in the neigh
borhood.

The remains of Mr. P. Delany, a. citizen" of
Pittsburg, who died a few days ago so sudden
ly in the cars, near. Harper's Ferry,,_ reached_

ging. Besides - spinning the yarn. in different
proportions of flax and cotton, and from the

well and as easily be prepared from the flax
