thick slices, btit it much impairs_the
flavor.

The greens may be boiled with the
meat. Take care 16 skim the pot care
fully, and to drain and squeeze the
greens very well before you send them
to table. If .there are yellow streaks in
the lean of the bacon, it is rusty, and
unfit to eat.

cept at breakfast.
Take ten pounds of beef, and four
pounds of pork; two,thirds of the
meat should.: be tean,.and only one-third
fat; -Chop 'it very fine, and mix it well
!together. Then season it with six oun

Are the tongue often white and loaded; the ,
breath heavy and foetid; a disagreeable '
or sweetish taste in the mouth; occasionally
thirst; the appetite extremely variable, some.
times remarkably deficient, and at others ve
racious. - There is sometimes a sickish feeling
with vomiting of mucous; flatulence of the
stomach and intestines; Tails in the abdomen,:
swelling and hardness of the abdomen; tire
bowels ore irregular; the stools are slimy; and
there is .an - occasional appearance of worms
in the evacuations; tile urine is often milky
And turbid; there is frequently itchiness of the
foindament end nose, Which is ofte swollen:
