The negro, in Africa, lives in fixed 'habita

by. commerce. The exceptions to this /general
fact can hardly be named. He has, [Min tim e

native ores, and wrought them into inumerous

converted the skins of animals into leather,—

cloth; and in ingenuity, duiabillty, and (often)

viirely equalled—by the varied contrivances of
European and American art. ,And the further
the inquiries of "civilized" men have reached
into regions remote 'from the previous- visita

the negroe 'been found in these essential arts
of civilized life.

SOUTHPORT, C o hn. , Jan. 1, 1848.'
Messrs. SANDS : Gentlemen—Sympkthy for

remarkable cure effected by y'our Sarsaparilla
in the case of my wife. She was severely

the body ;,,the.glanclif of the neck wertgreatly

below the knee suppurated. Her physician,
advised it should be laid open, which was,
done, but wi•hout any permanent benefit. In
this situation we heard of, and were induced
to use SANDS' Sarsadarilla. The first hot.
tle produced a decided and favourable effect;
relieving her . more than any prescription she
had ever taken, and. before she had used six
bottles, to the astonishment and delight of
her friends, she found her health quite rester

of Sands' Sarsaparilla.
