OBITUARY
There is nothing sure in this world but heath. We
are forcibly reminded 01 this solemn truth by the up-.
pearance of the grim monster in our midst. snatching
from us friends who are near and dear. Those who
are the ornaments of oursociely, and who justly form
the objects or our pride,—ln short, these whom we
consider the best among us, die first. We ore seldom,
however, called CO mourn the loss of one more uni
versally esteemed for all those qualities which adorn
woman, and make her what God' intended her to be,
than the subject of this notice., airs. ANN MARGA
RET HILTON, who died on the sth Inst. In the 23d
year artier age. Kind and affable to all, courteous
an her Manners, and uniformly even in her disposi
tion, she nine at once the affectionate wife, the loving
partner and companion. Ou her bed of sickness she
exhibited that calm resignation which the righteous
only can have, and when called upon to leave this
vale of tears, she died
"Lite one who wraps the drapery of her couch
About her, and lies L`owit to pleasant dreams."
She has gone to "that bourne from whence no travel
ler returns," and while this sad affliction is a loss to
her numerous relatives and Iriends, she has given
evidence that their lose is her eternal gain. She Bled
in the blessed hope of a glorious resurrection, ex
pecting to nye (brevet with Christ, who was to her
an elder brother in affliction, and proved to her the
truth of His promise, that
"The soul that on Imes bath learned to repose,
I will not, I will tint. betray to its foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I'll never—no never—no never forsake."
Let her friends then, while they mourn their lose,
find consolation in the fact that she has gone to ir
better. and a happier world I that she line gone to
nines other friends whom she loved, but who have
passed
°Within the cold greve's ■llent
Where morrow's tears no more arc libUd,
'No more the Ills of life molest."
Let them remember that she has finished her course,
and kept the faith ; and that henceforth there is laid
up for her a crown of righteousness, which the Lord
the righteous Judge shall give hero that tiny, when
the trumpet shall sound, and this corruptible shall
put on incorruptiou, and this mortal , shall put ou ha
mortailty. Truly,
"Death ties on bar, like an unthnely frost
