Dicanonov Townson, Nov. 20,1847.
About six yearii since, to consequence of
the sedentary natiere of my business, I Was
attacked with serve pains in the breast, pal
pitation of the heart and shortness of breath'
which were soon followed by a failure °fop
petite,extreme wakefulness at night,and patial
paralysis of my limbs—these symptoms of a
deranged system being' frequently attended
with spitting of blood. Fcr about two years I
was also occasionally thrown into 'convulsions
which left me in. sc,misersble state of feeble
,B end began to effect my mind. From lime
to time my sufferings were more or less severe
until at length they Increased to such a degree,
and the violence eifthe symptoms were so nut
monied, that fur a whole year I was Unable
attend to attend to any business. During this
time I consulted some' able physicians and
-attended- to-their- preseri : but all 'their
skill was unavailing to -procure me Imhof, and
at length they regarded my recovery as,entlre
fy hopeless.- In this condition I was informed
of the salutary effects of Thomenn's Compound
Syrup of Tar and Wood. Naphtha, in a case
somewhat similar to mine, and though I had
given up all expeetatioUs of a recovery of my
Mrmer health by human means, yet being
strongly advised totry the medicine,
I was at
length prevailed upon to do so, and I have now
to say, that by the use ofaix b-ttles m) health
has been restored, and I .arnr now able to at
tend to business with as much faeility as usual.
