received from the Western part of the State,
which puts a different aspect on the matter. It
seems the Whigs in the West permitted the elec
tion to go against them by delimit, and have there
fore consigned the State again to the tender mer
cies of Locofbcoism, by a largo majority. It is
-now nimcst certain that the Locnfocos have ear,
tied every Smatolial Oistrici—an increased nnni•
ber . of,zlsseinblynicn—Mid a popular majority of
nearly 25,00 votes, The aggregate vote taken
is about one-third less than usual—probably about
300,000, in a constituency of 450,000.
