who immediately answered him. He (Mr Barton,)
asked him What he was doing on deck, to which he

Court. Re whole evidence in the case was then 'read
and matdaly considered, and the.Colirt are of opinion
that the first specificatiorcof the first chiirgejs proved
in part, to win as muck& Said specification as relates'
to',l'assed_Midshipman,LWood, .running in. debt to
Paul BonifaCio, without means known to the Court of

on the occasion specified to pay the said Passed Mid
shipman WOOd'd debt, It is,not intim opinion of the
Court clearly proved that Passed Midshipman Wood.

Wood not, guilty in the first-charge, in its full extent;
but guilty of great' indisCretion and imprudence in s
risking the character of the service' by contracting,
debt without certain means of paying it.
That the specification of the 2d charge being read,
the Court are of opinion that. the said specification
is proved, and that the second , charge !mins; read,
the Courtfind and adjudge the said Passed '
Man Wood guilty of said 2d charge. The Cowl after
mature deliberation;'do 6e.titebee and adjudge tIM said
Harty P. T. Wood, 'Passed MidAhipman in the United
