The Republican State ticket is elected
by a plurality of about 50,000 (Mc-
Kinicy's plurality was 288,000.)
Weaver, Rep., beat Rothermcl, Fu
sion, for Dist. Attorney of Philadelphia
by about 50,000.
Neighboring Counties.
Allegheny gave the Republican ticket
about 25,000— Pittsburg 15,000 and
Allegheny City 5,000.
Mercer county's Republican majority
is estimated at 800; Lawrence county's
at 1000: Venango 800, Crawford 300,
Beaver 2000.
Clarion county elected Harry R. Wil
aon. Rep., Judge, by 587 over Ilindman,
Dem.. while Yerkes and Coray carried
the county by about 800.
Westmoreland county gives the Re
pnblic-an State ticket about 800 majori
ty; and elects Steele, Rep., Judge, by
about 1000

New York City gave Seth Low, Re
publican and Fnsion candidate for
Mayor, a majority of 30,000. and Croker
promised to abdicate as leader of

Ohio The Republican majority in
the state is about 50,000, and both

Nebraska, New Jersey, Connecticut,
Massachusetts, lowa, Rhode Island,
went Republican.

Thanksgiving Proclamation.
On Saturday, President Roosevelt, is
»ued the Thanksgiving Proclamation,
fixing Thursday, November 28, for
America's National reunion and day of
worship, feasting and football.
In part the President says.

giving to God.
This thanksgiving finds the people

My Dear Briggs On Tuesday the Ist,
a w<!-k ago, a large party of us were
traveling from Ikmsko to Djumajo, On
onr way we found on selves surrounded
by a baud of men, alsiiit 30 in number,
all armed with the latest rifles. They
chose Miss Stone, un American mission
ary, and my wife, and taking two of onr
horses went further into the thick
forest. Just at the time before the tak
ing of the la/lies we had to witness a
most horrible thing Thev hail captured
u Turk, and while they tied hi* hand*
buck they were testing him with ti>e
bucks of their rifles, and fiunity, taking
his own knife, thev stabbed him seven
time* and he fell dead
For a long time we had to wait and

Finally we got a letter telling us that
the reiison of their capture was to get
money. Pray for us When my wife
