Something About Foxes.
An item in this paper mentioned
about a large number of foxes being
killed in the vicinity Kossuth. Clarion
County this season, and said but five of
the lot were grey ones and not one black
one. David M. Moore & Son. informs
us that Russia is the only country
where black foxes are found, and they
are very rare there. The foxes found
in this section are the read, grey and
cross, the latter being a mixture of
both the former, and having black legs,
stomach and ears, and this is probably
what has occasionally been taken for
the black fox. Hides of the red fox are
worth from $1.35 to $1.40 each, of the
grey from 65 toTO cents, and the cross*
from $4 to &S. The hide of the silver
grey fox which is found only in Canada
and the West, brings from to $100;
