"Thought the Child Would Die."
That is what the Sisters of the
Home for Catholic children, in Boston,
said about a poor little child who was
racking itself almost to death with
whooping cough. The child was sud
denly taken with severe spasms and
vomiting, and with frightful pains in
the head. The Sisters write: "We
used Perry Davis's Pain Killer with
the most astonishing results. In a
few hours the disease was gone and
the child was well."

When Ladies are Attractive.
All ladies know their faces are most
attractive when free from pimples.
Parker's Ginger Tonic is popular
among them because it banishes im

the face glow with health.
There is no lack of variety in the
weather.

It is so seldom that physicians will

E. Detchon, M. D., Pleasant Hill,

of Coe's Dyspepsia Care and find it
of great value. I have had dyspepsia
for 22 years, and have found no one
remedy so effectual in giying relief as
Coe's Dyspepsia Cure. I have, as a

have been satisfied with its effects.

New Jersey Wine Sent to Europe
The succes of Mr. Speer, the great
wine man of New Jersey - , has arisen
from the strict purity and yaluable
properties of his wine for invalids and
leeble persons, and his reputation ex
tends over the whole Union and in
Europe as being a reliable producer of
pure wines. His Port Grape Wine is
now being ordered by families in
Dresden, London and Paris for its su
perior medicinal virtues, and its blood
making quality, owing probably to the
iron contained in the brown shale
rock soil in which the vine grows.

At a recent meeting of the overseers

that in the opinion of this board ; the

composed of colored women is nearly
ready to enter the field. In New York
a club has greatly increased its gale

on exhibition as pitcher. This idea
might be carried farther. A nine
made up of the wild Australian chil
dren as the battery, the transparent
headed baby as short stop, Zulus on
the bases, and bearded women and
living skeletons in the field, would go
far toward satisfying even the strong
est craving for novelty.

THE NEW PATENT
DUST-PJKOOF
Stem Winding Open Face Case,
MANUFACTURED BY THE
AMERICAN WATCH CO,
Wallliaiii, Mass,
This case is formed in one solid piece with
out joint or seam, opening in Front cm.'y, thus
avoiding the ÜbUal cap, and securing greater
strength and durability.
These Watches are all open face. The bezel,
into which an extra strong crj6tal is fitted with
au especially prepared water-prool cement, is
attached to the case by screwing it thereon,
and thus forms an air-tight junction with the
body of the c-se, which is proof against dust
and moisture.
To railroad men, travelers, miners, lumber
men and others who are almost constantly ex
posed and who have to make frequent relerencei
to the watch, these qualities are ot the utmost
importance.

ing it. When he got il out it was running and
he thought all right, lu about three months
he found that the sum was hard to turn and
sent it to me.
I can eay that the watch is all that the com

HOW WATCHES ARE MADE.
In a SOLID GOLD WATCH, aside from
the necessary thickness for engraving and
polishing, a large proportion of metal is
needed only to stifien and hold the engrav
ed portions in place, and supply strength.
The surplus gold is actually needless. In
Jamea Bead Patent Gold Watch Cases this
•WASTE is saved, and SOLIDITY and
STRENGTH increased by a simple process,
at one-half the cost. A plate of SOLID
GOLD is soldere.l on each side of a plate
of hard nickel composition metal, and the
three are then passed between polished
Steel rollers. From this the cases, backs,
centers, bezels, etc., are cut and shaped by
dies and formers. The gold is thick
enough to admit of nil kinds of chasing,
engraving and engine turning. These
cases have been worn perfectly smooth by
use without removing the gold. This it
the oidy ease made under this process. Each
case is accompanied with a valid guarantee
signed by the manufacturers warranting it to
wear 20 years. 150,000 of these Cases
now carried in the United States and
Canada. Largest and Oldest Factory.
