Chills and Fever. Malaria. 'The undersigned bag no hesitation in asserting that the judicious use of Simons Liver Regulator as a preven tive and tonic to the system, will se cure immunity from the weakening and dangerous effects of malaria and will effect a cure of chills and fever and all malarial disorders. H. H. Jones, Ed. Macon, Ga., 'Telegraph." Beware of imitations gotten up on the popularity of Simmons Liver Rreg . ulator. There is a clover blight in the Ches ter Valley. For all derangements of the L rinary Organs, wear a Days Kidney Pad. The cut-worm is ravaging the wheat fields in the Lebanon Valley. I was given up to die, from a disease of my limbs. I took Peruna and it cured me. J. Irwin, Hope, Pa. The Cincinnati papers want the as tronomers idicted because they allowed the eclipse to take place on Sunday morning. I had Chronic Dysentery for one year. Peruna cured me. James Bren nen, Pitsburgh, Pa. The Treasury Department is pre paring the checks to pay the July in terest. It takes about %,000 checks to pay all the 'bloated bondholders. Floods and tornadoes have cost the farmers and lumbermen of tbe Middle and Eastern States about $5,000,000 thus far this year. An Ottowa Ont., man has commenc ed building a miniature ark in anticipa tion of a flood, His wife spent the entire week in cooking and preparing provisions for the trip. Senator Sherman pithily says that tbe tax on whiskey will now pay the i'lterest on tbe public debt. Tbe spec tacle of the Democratic party paying the interest on the public debt is instruc tive, not to say edifying. [Boxton, (Ham.) Cultivator ] Mr. M. F. Morse, Westboro', Mass., mentions to us the gratifying informa tion, that St. Jacobs Oil relieved him of a very severe attack of Sciatic Rheu matism and is an excellent thing. 'Mark Twain' wrote in the Mrs. Hayes album: 'Totol abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be car ried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even envy it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself. Tbe invention of tbe A. S. T. Co. have saved the people of this country millions annually, and the most imopr tant one is their Black Tip for chil dren's shoes. Parents wbo have de- dined to try the metal should not fail to give the black tip a trial. We would advise all persons think ing of marriage to omit from the no tices in the newspapers the word 'Cards' In Colorado recently, the notice in papers said 'Cards,' and every person brought a pack and some two or three packs. Joe Johnston savs Jeff Davis is mis taken in his book. With Longstreet, Sherman, Toombs and Johnston all 'fixing' him for bis many errors the old man will soon be of the opinion that he knew nothing about the rise and fall of the Confederate States. If your hair is coming out, or turn ing gray, do not murmur over a mis fortune you can so easily avert. * -Ayer's Hair Vigor will remove the cause of your grief by restoring your hair to its naturil color, and therewith yoor good looks and good nature. Illinois sweeps the board of evils with her statute in reference to carry-1 ing deadly weapons. It prohibits the sale, gift, loan or barter to a miuor of any weapon capable of concealment aboat the person, and requiring dealers in such weapons to keep a complete registry of their sales for public inspec tion. It also requires that an adult carrying a deadly weapon shall wear it in a belt around the waist. The law is comprehensive, but the question is, can or will it be enforced ? There is no difficulty in securing the enactment of salutary laws, but to enforce them is another matter. One of the most satisfactory evi dence of the wonderful recent growth of the United States is that afforded by the report of the Census Bureau giving statistics of the several States and Ter ritories during the last decade. All permanent advancements in any coun try is that based on labor. The true wealth of a community can best be measured by its farms and factories. This being the case, the knowledge that in the last ten years the cereal crops of the country have increased nearly one hundred per cent, must be pecularly satisfactory to every one in terested in the welfare of our nation It is noticed in Eastern cities that the reduced interest on Government bonds has made a marked difference in the living of thousands of people, who within fifteen years past have inherited fortunes entiely invested in such secu rities. The divided estates of great manufacturers, of prosperous mer chants, composed of such investments, were regarded as magnificent livings for those who inherited them, but when a s<>,ooo income is cut down to $3,600, and a $3,000 is reduced to $1,750, the deprivation is regarded as a great im position by people who have never been accustomed to earn the money which they spend. It is related in a London journal that on the occasion of a recent Parlia mentary debate growing out of the Irish irritation so stately a person as Sir William Vernon Harcourt, looking across the benches at Lord ftandolpli Churchill, said to him : 'You little ass!' To which Lord Randolph promptly replied: 'You damned fool!' Both the distinguished persons to this colloquy will never be 1 Hitter or more pithily described But in the light of such an interchange of opinion on the floor of Parliament the late passages in the Pennsylvania Legislature were playful, innocent and lamblike. R«n«*w Your Lense. There are times in every one's life when energy fails and a miserable feel ing comes over them, often mistaken for laziness. Danger lurks in thrse symptons, as th«*y arise from impure blood or diseased organs. Medical advice is expensive and often unsatis factory. Parker's Ginger Tonic will renew your lease of health and comfort because it restores perfect activity to the Stomach, Liver and Kidneys, and purifies the blood, as ineu and womeu restored to rebust health testify in almost every neighborhood.
