' Any person enn noil or siew ti:r mot till they cet a dark colored liquid., which is more from the cl"ring nwtter in the root thnitf. from any thin; else; they can then strain this insipid or vaofd', liquid, sweeten with sour moU-ses. und thn call it "'SAR SAPAK1LLA EXTRACT or SYRUP." Hut such is not th.OJ article known as the GENUINE OLD DR. JACOB TOWNSEND'S" SARSAPARILLA. This iaso prepared, that all the inert properties of the Sar saparilla root are first removed, every thine capable of becnniln; acid or of fermentation, is extracted and rejected ; then every particle of medical virtue is seenred in a pure and conrontnted ' form; and thus it is rendered incapable of losinanv of its valur able and healing properties. Prepared In this wav, it is made Ui most powerful agent in the " Cuare of innumerable diseases. - Hence tho reason why we hear commendations on everv Ms In its fa-or by men, women, and children. We find it doing wonders in the cure of COA'SU.MPTIOJr, DYSPEPSIA, and LIVER. COM PLAIJTT. and in RHEUMATISM, SCROFULA. PILES. COSTfVEjYESS, all CUTANEOUS ERUPTJC.YS, PIM--PLES, BL.OCTHF.S. and all affections nrisins from IMPURITY OF THE BLOOD. It possesses a marvellous efficacy in ail complaints arising from Indigestion, from Acidity of the Stomach, from unequal circtn-? tion. determination of blood to the head, palpitation of the heart, cold feet and hands, cold chills and hot Hashes over the body. t has not its equal in Colds and Coughs; and promotes easy'ex pectpration and centle perspiration, relaxing stricture of tho lungs, throat, and every other part. But in nothing is its excellence more manifestly seen and sc fcnowledged than in all kinds and staee nf FEMALE COMPLAINTS. , . r It works wonders in cases of FiuorAlbusar Whites. Filing oj the IVomb, Obstructed. Suppressed, or rainful Menses, Irrcvulhr itg of the menstrual periods, and the like ; and is as effectual in curing all the forms of Kidney Diseases. By removing obstrucdons, and regulating the general sys tem, it cives tone and strength to the whole body, and thu cures ail forms of Nervous diseases and debility, and thus prevents or relieves a great variety of other maladlet as Spinal irritation, Neuralgia, St. Vitus' Dance, Sianitt Epileptic Fits, Convulsions, &c. It cleanses the blood, excites the liver to healthy action, tones tho Jtomach, and gives good digestion, relieves the bnwels of. torpor and constipation, allays inflammation, purifies the skin, equalises the circulation of the blood, producing gentle warmth' equally all over the body, and the insensible perspiration; re laxes all strictures and tightness, removes all obstructions, and invigorates the entire nervous system, is not this then The medicine you pre-eminently need ? lint can any of these things be said ofS. P. Townend's Infe rior article 1 This youns nlnn's liquid Is not to he COMPARED WITH THE OLD DR'S, because of one GRAND FACT, that the one is INCAPABLE, of DETERIORATION, and NEVER SPOILS, while the other DOES : souring, fermenting, and bloving tit bottles containing it into fragments ; the sour, acid liquid explo ding, nnd damaging other goods: Must not this horrible couv pound be poisonous to the system.! If hat I put acid into a,, system already diseased with acidl What causes Dvspepsia buV acid 1 Do we not all know that when (bod sours In our stou achs. what mi-chiefs it produces 1 rlntucnce. heartburn, palpi tation of the heart, liver complaint, diarrhoea, dysentery, colic, and corruption of the blood ! What is Scrofula but an aclc humor in the body? What produces all the humors which. bring on Eruptions of the Skin, ucnld Head. Salt Rheum. Ery slpelas. hite Swellines, Fever Sores, and all utceraUons In temal and external 1 It is nothing under heaven, but an acid substance, which sours, and thus spoils all the fluids of tho body, more or less. What cause- Rheumatism but a sour or acid (laid, which insinuates Itself between the joinu and clse where, irritating and indaming the delicate tissues upon which it acts 7 So of nervous diseases, of impurity of tho blood, of deranged circulations, and nearly all the aliments which afflict human nature. Now 'is It not norrible to miko and sell, and infinitely vant louse this SULKING, FERMENTING, ACID "-COMPOUND? OF S. P. TOWNSEND. and yet he would fain have it understood that Old nr. Jcob Townsend's Genuine Original Sarsaparilla, is an IMITATION' of liis Inferior preparation I ? Hoavrn forbid that w hou'd deal in.an article which would bear the mint iliMunt resemblance to S. P. Townsend's articiti and which shnnid bring dmn upon the Old nr.sucha mountain loud jf conijilaiqis and criminations from Agents who have oid, and purchasers who have used S. P.Townsend's FERMENTING COMPOUND. We wwh t nnder.-tood. because it Is the absnlutt truth, that S. P. Townsend's articie and Old Dr. Jacob Townsend's Sar saparilla me heaven-vide apart, and infinitely dissimilar; thai they are unlike in every particular, having notono single thlnf In cnmmoii. As S. T. Townsend Is no doctor, and never was. I no chetidst, no pharmaceutic knows no more of medicine, or dl ease than any other common, unscientillc, unprofessional man, what guarantee can the public have thar they are receiving's, genuine ccientttie medicine, containing all the virtues of the articles used in preparing it. and which are incapable of change which might redder them the AGENTS of Disease instead of health. Hut, wli t else should be oxper.tcd from one who knows noth lug comparatively of medicine or disease ! Urequires a persna of some experience to cook and erve Hp even a common decent nical. How much more important U it that the persops wh.o man u fuel 11 re medicine, designed for WEAK STOMACHS AND ENFEEBLED SYSTEMS, -liotitd know well the medical properties of plants, the best manner of securing and concentrating their healing virtues, also an extensive knowledge of the varions diseases which affect the human system, and how to adapt remedies to these disease's It is to arrest fraud upon the unfortunate, u pour balm into Wounded humanity, to kindle hope in the despairing bosom. u return health and bloom, and vigor into the crushed and b"rT ken. and to banish infirmity that OLD DR.
