sherman's all-healing balsam.
Mrs. Atiree, the wife of VVm. II. AUrce, Esq.,
was given up by Dr. Sewall of Washingion,
Drs. Roe and McClcllan of Philadelphia. Dr.
Roe and Dr. Molt of New York, Her friends
all thought he must die. She had every ap
pearance of being in consumption, and was so
pronounced by her physicians Sherman' Bal
sam was given nnd it cured her.
Mrs. Garrabrantz, of Bull's Ferry, was also
cured of consumption by this Balsam when all
oTher remedies failed to give relief she was
reduced to a skelion. Dr. A. C. Castle, Den
tin , 2SI Btoadway, has witnessed lis effects
in several cases where no oilier medicine af

charm. Dr. C. also witnessed its wonderful
effects in curing Asthma, which it never fails
of doing. Spitting Blood, alarming as it may
be, is effectually cured by this Balsam. It
heals the ruptured or wounded blood vessels,
and makes ihe lungs sound again.
Rev. Henry Jones, lOSEighih avenue, was
cured of tough and catarrhal affection of 50
years standing. The first dose gave him more
relief ihan all the other medicine he had ever
taken. Dr. L. J. Beals, 19 Delancy-street,
gave it to a siater-inlaw who was laboring un
der Consumption, and to another sorely afflic

were immediate, soon restoring them to com
foriatde health.
Mrs. Lchretia Wells, 95 Chrisiie-st. suffered
from Asthma 42 years. Sherman's Balsam
relieved her at once, and she is comparatively
well, being enabled to subdue every attack by
a limely uhc of this medicine. This indeed is
the great remedy for Coughs, Colds, Spitting

of ihe throat, and even Asthma and Consump

was entirely cured.

Dr Townsend I verily believe that your Sar

of saving my life. I have for several years had a
bad Cough. It became worse and worse. At
last I raised large u uantites of blood, had night

and did not expect to live. I have only used your
Sarsaparilla a short time, and there has a wonder
ful change been wrought in me. I am now able
to walk all over the city. I raise no blood, and
my cough has left me. You can well imagine

James Cummings, Esq ,one of the assistant in

Blackwell's Island, Sept. 14, 1847
Dr. Townsend Dear Sir : I have suffered terri

I had the utmost distressing: pains, and my limbs
were terribly swollen. I have used four bottles of
your Sarsaparilla, and they have done me more
than one thousand dollars worth of good. I am
so much better indeed, I am entirely relieved.
You are at liberty to use this for the benefit of the
afflicted. Yours resp'y, J as. Cummings
Fits ! Fits.! Fits !
Dr. Townsend, not having tested his Sarsapa
rilla in cases of Fits, of course never recommend
ed it, and was surprised to receive the following
from an intelligent and respectable Farmer in
Westchester County :
Fordham, August 13, 1847
Dr. Townsend Dear Sir : I have a little girl
seven years of age, who has been several years
afflicted with Fits ; we tried almost everything for
her, but without success : at last, although we
could find no recommendations in our circulars for
cases like hers, we thought, as she was in very
delicate haalth, we would give her some of your
Sarsaparilla, and are very glad we did, for it not
only restored her strength, but she has had no re
turn of the Fits, to our great pleasure and surprise.
She is fast becoming rugged and hearty, for which
we feel grateful. Yours, respectfully,
JOHN BUTLER Jr.
