Of the five hindred pupils, it is recom
mended that three hundred should be edu
cated at the expense of the Skate, and two
hundred at their personal cost ; the State
pupils (three annually from each representa
tive district) to be,selected from candidates
from the common schools. In this particu
lar. the institution would occupy the posi
tion of a general High School to which pu
wis would matte their way by merit, from
the inferior public seminaries.

DARING ROBBERY.— A. valise belonging
to a young Methaclist preacher named John

.10 to Montrose will hereafter leave the Railroad
Hotel of 0. C Smith in - the immediate vicinity of
the Depot, as follows : At 4A. M. and 6 P. M,
on the arrfral, of the Railroad trains from New
York, passing through New Milford to • Montrose,
whence a Daily line runs in connection therewith
to Springville..Tunkhannock and Wilkesbarre ; and
another via. Nicholson, Factoryville, Abington Gen.
ire, Providence and Hyde Park to Scrantonia..(those
places being along the line of the Legxitt's Gap
Railroad.) , Returning, the stage leaves Scrantonia
at 4 A. IL, passing through the above places 'to
