was Conceded that Mr. Reed. was chosen ;
- but in one or two wards the returns Were

in the ward. The hour of closing the polls
was ten o'clock, and a Mr. \Vm. LandOn,

A large nutuber of witnesses were then
called who were set down on the tally list as
having voted in the ward, who testified that
they were not 'isidents of the ward and had

found on the tally list as having voted who

In the Eastern precint of Penn Distriet,

In the examination, 47 persons swore that
they voted for B. Ivied for Distiut At
torney, an excess over the return of 21.
These facts account for the extraordinary
delsv in teeming the poll and making the
re t urn at thik late election, in the contested
iiistricts. The officers of the election, contra
ry to the spirit if not to the letter-of the law

Kossuth has communicated to this Gov
ernment an

were transmitted by Dr.'Frank Taylor of
Perinsylvanist, who has just returned from
Turkey, and from 11 visit of three weeks to the
noble Hungarian. Kossuth's residence is fib

rently with the object on the part of the Aus
trian -anti Russian Governments, who desig
nated it,'of getting rid of him by the slow pro

much broken down in constitution, though
represented as being even now a man of the
