Seven pents'(slo,l3B.s7) county balance; and upon a thorough investigation of the Commission ers!, accounts, we are satisfied that our present board of Commissioners are making every effort in their power to reduce the expenditures of the 'county. We find that for distribUting the elec tion papers, Assessors duplidates and papers, and the registry books and papers for theirear 1872 cost the county $646, white in the year 1876, for distributing the same, cost the coun*• $197.60 ; and notwithstanding the above encouraging facts; we find . that many of the Assessors of the county are charging exorbitant prices for making the assessments; and especially the borough of ,liontrose. We find also thatthe charges for county advertising are exorbitant for the times, and Would suggest to our Cominissioners that they use every means in their power to. reduce the same.
