"CONSISTENCX" P4OyED.'
[From the Wayne Conaty Herald. ,
Last week we felt it to the our duty to.
correct an error into.which the, Montrose
Republic' an had falleh in claiming that
Geo. G. Waller, the Radical nominee for;
State Senator, had always been an'active,l
and consistent member of ,the Republican \
party. Our recollection was that he was
a "McClellan and ! Peace" man in 1864,
and so the stated, 7
Last. evening Mr. Wier was one of
speakers at, the 'Republican club meeting,
in this borough. In the course of
its
reinarks he said,: "On my return I was
surprised to find that i f vas charged 'by
the Herald with haling- supported Geo.
B. McClellan for, Preaident, iN 1564.' In
1864 I supported Abraham Lincoln - by,
my voice and votei i and I huye no doubt
that when the editoi - of `the Herald a*
eovers, his mistake he slit' make a suit
able,rettaction."
Mr. Waller does' us ,simple justice in
believing that we iireOever ready to cor
'reof any error into which we may have
been led. But-is:64one those Cases?,
