services in thia beautiful and picturesque old
town were conducted in thanicisticOerly and
impressive manner. The immense crowd that
gathered here from the remotest corners of pa
triotic little Wyoming, showed Oat we who
enjoy the blessings of peace and liberty, do not
forget the hero-martyrs who; died' that We
might live. .
At 3 o'clock p. m., a procession'
.was formed
on' the Court. House square, rind:'marched As,
the cemetery. The Triton Hoie Cis, .P. O. 8..0f
A., Odd Fellows, It of P., members of the 9th
Reg't of National Guards, Veterans of - the lute
war; etc., all dressed in approi4tte uniforms,.
made a very striking and briniest appearance.
l'Ailetheri the 'very fine Silver Cornet Band,
of this place, played the . swarm dirges for the
dead and a cLoir sang fitting de oration odes.
Rev. S. W. Weiss offered a brie anal impres
sive prayer, and the beautiful floral tributes
were placed upon the graves of the beloved
sleepere, by the '
ptire hands of innocent little
children.
An incident occurred , just after the decora
tion services were over,that attracted attention.
One brave fellow, whose pale face attested to
the fact of health ruined by yeari of toil and
wife:lug in thls army, stood by thv grave of a
dearly loved comrade ; and, while the hot tears
ot; a bitter remembrance coursed,down his wan
cheek, he said to a friend : "While this go
,inment pays tribute to the dead soldieri,
I wish it did not so easily 4get the chiims
the living. Talk about the gratitude Of a Re
publican administration to the ,dcfesdere of the
Union. Why, I have been trying for years to
get the pension that no one can deny that.!

quired by law for several years past; the Leigia
lsture nt its late session enacted, a law entitled
"Am Act to regulate the publication or the ac
counts and financial •: statements of school
boards." This law is applicable to the accounts
for the year ending on the first . Monday of
June, and must be obeyed by school boards.=
