Porismut; May 25.-=-The sickness of
the juror,Mr. Levi Stine, which inter
rupted the trial of the five Mollies charg
ed.with.thenitirder of Yost, the police
than, termi nated fatally last night; and
this morning the eleven survivors had to
be discharged. This will necessitate the
retrial of the whole .case, which in. view
, of the exOtement in , this county and the
fact that the testimony in the case has
been published and read by nearly every
one in the noway will most likely move
our court ti grant a change of venue in
the case to some adjoining county.
Should the prisoners then demand sepe
rate .trials they would cause an expense
of sixty thousand. dollars,
.which would
have to be paid out of the treasury of
Schuylkill county. It ii 3 very much to
be regreted that, events, have, put the
matter. in ;its present condition, tor, out
'side of the question - of expense it is to
be: feared ; . that jurors in , a neighboring
county, not knowinthe ease with. which
these men;- are able to manufacture an
alibi by re l ason of, much experience, may
give tnorei credit to a certain class of wit
.nesses than those who are familiar with

Mollie Maguires. Of 'these twelve are
cluTged vvith murder, and the others
with conspiracies to murder, and, with
being accessory after the fact to murders,.
These men, as well as five imprisoned at
Mauch Chunk, have all been arrested on
.information applied by the detective,,
McParlain ; nor has the demand of jus
tice yet been satisfied, and we may ex
pect to hear of a number of additional
arrests. There is an addition being built
to the prisbn here, which, has made it
necessaryito tear down the outer wall of
the prispii-yard, and until the building
his finished : a more numerons and vigilant
watch 'will have to Compensate for the
more exposed condition of the prison to
an outside attack.

A Mouse Capt ured e by a Spidei.
The wonderful little spicier that , cap

tured the k mouse, and is elevating it in
its parforiat Kr—Michael Gross' carpen
ter shop, on Greatmen, betweethElysian•
Fields, and . Matigny streets, of which we
gave an . account yesterday morning, is
still busily engaged in its herculine task,
and: filling they numerous pereuns who

visit it with amazement. - •
This astonishing little- insect is of the
black species, and very small , a fact
which renders the feat it now performs
the more marvelous. The mouse was
accustomed, when on a predatory excur
sion,: to emerge from a hole under the
bent% .where the spider dweihi, and pass
into the Carpenter-shop where
-the bench
stands. I,`
The enterprising spider, who had, no
doubt, watched 'for a long time its move
mentsoiid a trap for the unsuspecting
Mouse, and, on :Monday morning, when
it started out on its daily rounds, the lit
tle spider, who Was on the lookout. tight
ened the ithreals which she had prepared
for her victim, whose hind legs Wete
tangled tn them as it passed out of - its
hole, and was soon secured., Inimediate
ly after the legs had been caught, the
spider fastened: another thread to the
mouse's tail, and after several hours'
constatitlwork, succeeded in raising he:
prey's hindquarters, and continued .to
doing utitil thel tip of the mouse's nose
only readied the floor. Haviing thus
reAderesi it helidess, the little spider in-

After a .few more , hours' labor the
mouse was raised an inch from the floor,
the spider 'working away , as if with a
pulley., In its terrible, contortions to re
lease itself the Mouse managed to sever
the fastenings from its hind legs, but'so

it in the _air, and so securely were they
attached to the tail, Oat all efforts .to
break them proved fruitless. Mr. Grosi,
,taking great care in the proceedings, left
the spider undi3turhed and during a
n:lost the whole: of Monday .night, with

tentively, The little insect, after taking
its *position on her victim's tad, com
menced manipulating the , threads and
working.. ,
Gradually could the astonished, wit
nesbes 'of this teat see the mouse 'creep up
and the threads, descending frOm their
fastenings under the.corner of • the bench
to the mouse's tail, increasing 'in num
ber, and during the twenty-four hours
ending yesterday evening, the +reads
had so increased that: h becalm impos
sible to count them, and Abe mouse,
which was stillialive, though quite weak
enact, had been, raised from one to three
and one half inches from the floor. The
spider, during the whole time of its work,
sat on -the monies tail, only leaving its
position'-at long intervals, when' it would
cautiously creep down the tail to its root,
and there feed upon the blood of the
