Perrv County Advocate, January
31: The latter part of last week, a
live black bear was captured near
Mauas.sah, in Jackou township, by a
Mr. Henry, a resident of that vicinity.
Old Biuin had evidently escaped
from some strolling band of show
men or musicians, us he had a muz
zle on and a heavy collar and chain.
Tho beai had been heard growling
during the nitjht by several parties,
as in attempting to procure food he
was foiled by the muzzle, and the rat
tling ef the chain had rather a elia
turbing effect upon tho persons who
had heard these unusual sounds iu
the depths of the night. What dis
position will be made of the bear has
not been decided.
