Hung in Pennsylvania- Harris Blank and Isaac Rosen weig, two Poles were hung at Tunkahau nock, Pa., last Thursday for a mur der that they committed March IS, 1892. Rosenweig left a confession. Their victim wus a young Hebrew peddler named Jacob Marks Early in March 1892, young Marks started on one of his periodical trips through Wyoming and Sulliven coun ties with a large stock of clothing notions and jewelry. Feai irg for htr life, Mrs. Hughes a'nt led to run out of the house, but jm-t as she had reach ed the front door Hughes struck her in tho back with a coal bucket, knock ing her down tho front steps into the street. The woman fell in the street wiih blood gnshing from her month, nose and ears. H.ighcs fearful of the re suit of his brutal assault became frightened, mid picking his wife up tried to make her stand against the tide of the house. The woman was unconscious and foil again to the ground. She was finally taien into the house by neighbors and remain ed unconscious for several hours. When she had been restored to con sciousness it was found that she had lost her reason, and in this condition she remained until her death. She was buried at Minersviilu on Satur day last, and immediately thereafter steps were taken by the authorities which led to Hughes' arrest and im prisonment. The charge against Hughes is murder. Ou April 4h, Hughes while drink ing and playing cards in his owu house with a fellow miner named Johu.McCtay, accused the latter of insulting his (Hughes) wife. Pick ing up a carving knife Hughes slash ed McCray across the abdomen with the weapon inflicting a terrible wouud. McCrav hovered between life and death for several weeks, but is now o--K of all danger. For this cnttiug Hjgb.es was never arrested, but continued to walk about the town apparently defying arrest.
