came. A. II. Weidoian, overseer, was

provided for her intermant in Union Cem
etery last Thurday.
"Tbotna Prendergast, of Pottstown, got

cow to a local butcher. VVnen the purchas
er came lor bis goods Mrs. Prendergast,
with a pair of tongs, told him to skip, and

butcher, and told bim to bring along a

On last Wednesday morning about 9
o'clock while Boyd Bratton, aged about
sixteen years waa sittingon a fence back
of Patterson school bouse, the fence gave
way nnder the weight of himself and some
others, and he waa precipitated backward
over an embankment, aad waa aeverely cut
in tbe back of the head. He was helped
borne by hia companions, and Dr. Banks
rendered tbe ntcessary surgical attention.
The cot was four inchea in length and waa
sewed up. Tbe accident confined Boyd to

vlvania State Weather Service Bureau sent
out a crop bulletin, of which the following
has been taken.
Selinsgrove Ground too wet te finish
seed tog ; corn ripening lowly.
Quakertown Wet weather causing fruit
to tall, and cabbages to burst.
Lebanon Corn needs less rain and more
sunshine ; seeding delayed.
York Corn is being cut, crop good ; to

Rider's Dog.
L. D. Rider, of Re townhip, had a dog
tbat geta into trouble of a peculias kind.
For some lime Mrs. Oliver Albright bss
been annoyed by the loss of articles f rom
around tbe kitchen and ben coop. At last
Mr. Albright set a trap in tho basement and
fastened tbe chain to tbo leg of a sink.
During the night a wonderful racket was
beard, and Oliver, in nndrea uniform, made
a rufb lor tbe basement where be found a
dog belonging to Mr. Rider fast in the trap.
For some minute there waa a picnic
around tbete, but pluck eventually won and
