Last Thursday evening, Mr. Joseph Pen
nell and wile, celebrated the return or their
son F. M. M. Pennell snd bride, Ida Irene
Pennell, who were absent in Eastern cities,
on their wedding trip since the 28 :h nit.,
by the largest reception given in this
community. The wedding party srrived
on fast line at 6 o'clock P. M., and were
ready to receive their numerous friends a1
8 o'clock P. M., the hour appointed
for the reception. The spacious and
elegant mauaion ot Mr. Pennell is admira
bly fitted tor the entertain ruen t of so large
a company. Mr. aLd Mrs. Pennell were
assiduous in their efforts to have ev
eryone feel at home ai d so successf ul wer
thev. that it has been pronounced one o
the most enjoyable parties.
Precisely at tbe hour designated the bri
dal party appeared at tbe entrance of Ibe
main parlor. Mrs. Pennell the bride re.
ceived Urat, then, Mr Pennell her husband
on ber right. They were assisted in tbe re
ception by bridesmaids, Anna Parker and
Uertte Cavtny, and groomsmen f illiam H
Banks and Wilbsrlorce Schwever. Tbe
bridesmaids and groomsman, smilingly
turned the salutations of the lonr hundred
and five cueels aa they passed from tbe
hand sbakmc ot the bride and groom. Tbe
guests after being received by tbe wedding
party, took aeats of wbicb there was an am
ple number . B tbe several rooms ot tbe bonse
and by the time tbe last of tbe company
bad shaken bands with the bride and groom
tbo refreshments were ready and were
served by volunteer help from the ranks of
tbe young people ot the company assisted
bv some ot tbe older members, who have
passed the ranks of veterans in social
semblies. It was a least that would bare.
